Hi guys,

It has been a long time. I want to make some announcements.

  • I apologize for the delayed outstanding orders. I will post a list of all outstanding orders by 9 pm (ET) today. And I will give a new estimate on delivery. After that, I will reach out to you guys by PM or email. We have several options: A. full refund if the new estimate will not fit your timeframe, B. wait until the updated delivery date. Note: You can request a full refund at any time. The bottom line is I will not take your money and run.
  • I also want to update you on my family and my day job. It may sound unprofessional to share personal life with customers. But the 3d print business never separates from my own family. My wife had been managing the logistics including orders and shipping. If you received a small bag of gummy bears in your order, it is her idea. Until we had to fight her cancer (lymphoma) from mid-2021. Then you see how bad I am at managing stuff. Fortunately, she was at State 1. But radiation therapy was no joke. Long story short, she is getting better. For my day job, I have been doing an OK job. I have 3 journal papers accepted and 1 under review in 2021 and 2022. These are all related to 3d print (rapid prototyping). I was also awarded teaching excellence.
  • I am not taking new orders after 11:59 pm, Feb. 28, 2022. The business may come back in September 2022, with upgraded equipment. I have been talking with industrial 3d printer (selective laser sintering (SLS)) manufacturers from industry and academic exhibitions and conferences.
  • In summary, I apologize for the frustration caused by my delayed production and delivery.

Best,

Ben
Sorry to hear of the struggles, not least of which is your wife’s illness. My sister faced a similar diagnosis, and is now 3 years out from treatment cancer free.

Of course, your professional job and family obligations take precedence over the side gig. I’m often surprised when people get jumpy with forum vendors who offer excellent product with less than retail consistency. They should remember that these are side gigs, and adjust their expectations accordingly.

I appreciate it. She is lucky. The treatment was effective. And I am lucky haha.

I wish you all the best, Ben. I just finished up immunotherapy for Melanoma. Its no fun. I'm so glad your wife is recovering!

I was starting to worry for a while. Happy to see you back and glad things are improving. I sent an email for a small order if you can fit it in before the cutoff.

Ben, sorry to hear that. Our family has been through similar issues and I remember well how many other things just had to go by the wayside.

If I wanted to slip an order in today before cutoff - just send you a PM or email? Or is there a better way?

Thanks

Edit: Sent email with order.

HI Ben,
Grateful to hear things are getting better for your wife. That's the most important part of all of this.

I sent you a PM about my order from last fall. I didn't see my name on that outstanding list and I'm asking for a refund.

I look forward to doing business with you again in the future.

Thank you

Let me know your invoice number of the email you used to make the payment. Thanks.

2 Introduction

The fin/teeth structures are designed to force air to flow through the heatsink. The fin/teeth structures are not necessary for D2 lights to work. But for 3d printed parts, it barely adds to the fabrication cost. D2 fog lights are recommended. The mount is designed to accommodate the wide light pattern (85 deg).

M4V1.2 Introduction

The multiple-switch mount is modeled based on one of the requests. Six rocker switches can be mounted.

M4V1.3 Design and Fabrication

The space behind is limited. The depth of a rocker switch is actually much larger than that of a Scangauge. And there has to be some additional space between the roof and the metal blades of the switch to accommodate the wires. Several prototypes have been made to make this right. Starting from Prototype 6, one additional switch pocket is added. Thanks to @anhizer. Any comments are welcomed and appreciated.

Are there any spacers or flush fit kits to pop in here that would allow me to pop in a “toyota tall OEM switch” just grabbed this kit from a forum member and of course none of my Stedi switches pop right in.

@BenCC, you have already stopped taking new orders, correct?
I take new orders but in a different way.
You put in the order. I put you on the list. When I am ready to make your order, I will let you know. When the order is ready, you send the payment.

Ben couldn't do my custom part like we both had hoped, but his communication was stellar and of course, every aspect of it was above board. The guy is legit, so order and be patient.
