In the search for more stability, I picked up a set of 1.5" wheel spacers from gulfshoresfj60 on the board. Check out the before and after pics, I don't have any on-road experience yet, because I have another project going on it. I'll update when I take it for a spin. . .

I think it looks really good, makes me want to put some spacers on mine.

I am with Motoloco...too wide. Not to mention a lot of leverage on those inner lugs and the steering knuckles with 10" wheels and 2" backspacing. It will be interesting to see how long those tie rod ends and king pins last with your set up.

someday i want a stance like that...

breifly i had some 2.5 bs 10 inch wide rims on my stock cruiser (wih 33s) rubbed like a bitch on crack, but it look like it had full widths and all, dope s***, lotsa chicks checkin me out

Agree=The leverage on those highsteer arms is now magnified since the turning center and wheel center are not at the same place. I've seen lots of knuckle studs broken on the trail with a set-up like this. Make sure you check them frequently and keep them tight.

Plus, it's ugly.:flipoff2:

See you this weekend?

Just a suggestion... but I would loctite those spacer nuts...... ask me how I know : ( . Also, check your highsteer arms studs before and after wheeling (maybe you do anyway? it will be mandatory now IMHO)... looks good! The stability gain is worth the other issues just know from my experience, the wear on the bearings and front knuckle, etc. is accelerated... the passenger side steering arm loosened constantly on mine, even with ARP studs and loctite. I went with 2" BS rims now and have good width without spacers... US Wheel from Summit, reverse wheel.. HTH!

So what is the difference between running spacers and 3.75 wheels and spacers vs. 2.00 backspaced wheels? Maybe it looks exagerated by the pics but, but an IFS chevy lift, come on? Am I the first person to run spacers on an SOA setup with hysteer? I am looking forward to the stability gains and can hopefully get it out soon to test it.

Andy you better check your tent for some "critters" accidently getting into your tent :flipoff2:

Ditto I do each month with 2" wheel spacers .. congrats, you gotta enjoy those spacers ..

for sure!

my roomate just stuck some 2.5 backspace wheels on his 40 and we went out topless and both got kinda covered.

i like the way it looked so much that now i bought 2.5 bs wheels as well. though his are 10" wide i went with 8". may end up running a small spacer we will see. i want to go out as far as possible w/o hitting the fender with the sidewall.

well when you go to a taller tire it moves the center of where the tire rotates (due to steering not rotation) outwards. So i believe if you go to a significantly taller tire you should run less BS for proper steer as well as stability.

By the way are there some premium quality bearings that will handle the extra leverage better than oem?
