Bearing is fused to steering arm (1 Viewer)

I’ve been working on the knuckles for my ‘75 40 with with ‘76 axles. The driver’s side steering arm upper bearing is fused to the “stem”, I’ve tried putting it on a vise and whacking it with a wood chisel and 3lb hammer. I can’t get it to come off. Any suggestions? Heat maybe?

Heat or make a cutoff wheel cut and crack it loose with a cold chisel.

I had to do this with mine, just use the cutoff wheel to go half way through, and the heat of the cut will expand the race, and then the cold chisel to knock it loose. The idea is not to score the shaft underneath

Maybe a bearing separator tool and hydraulic press could get things apart.

Use a Dremel tool with small cutting disk to cut a weakening grove, chisel to split or heat the area then chill one side of the cut.
