I spoke to a landowner up here tonight that has recently been on 17N11 (French Ridge Rd) in a locked Chevy Colorado. He said there were lots of trees partially down that did some damage to his paint and a couple spots on north faces with some snow. If we go that route we might need to give the trail some love.

The 17N07 is the bypass for 17N04 that is closed (and has been for some time) by the switchbacks as discussed. 17N07 can take us up to M10 and then over Bear Creek and then Rice Fork. He said that with the water backed up on Rice Fork it could be tricky to cross.

Anyway, should be an adventure tomorrow. I'll try and make it north from Lake View in the morning but if it's too slow (I had to cut trees back in a handful of spots already) I might just go back south and loop around.

Either way, see you all in the morning.

I'll bring a chainsaw

Parts arrived late today. Just finished getting it all put together. See you all in the AM. I will need to borrow a radio from someone if there is a spare to share.

Thanks! Anyone know of a good place in the east bay for a cut and polish to keep it resembling something nice?

‘Yeah, a day like yesterday can be rough. You may want to start by giving it a good pressure wash and then see how much you can take care of using rubbing alcohol. A lot of what we went through were evergreens and the branches and limbs leave more of a pitch/residue than actual scratches. It will come off with alcohol, but the longer it sits, the harder it is to get off.

Then you can see about getting it detailed to take care of the rest. I would try to avoid cutting it if you can. At least as long as you can. Especially if you plan on wheeling here in CA. Pinstripes are really hard to avoid and you have only so many cuts.

On the other hand, anybody who has ever seen my truck knows not to take advice from me on pinstripes 😂

This was that LX's first time out..

Thats great! First time camping and everything or just first time wheeling? Did you own a cruiser before this one?

Your truck is sweet. Didn’t even flinch. Didn’t seem like you were ever phased. We rolled over and through a pretty good bit of fun stuff.
