Is anyone using a custom made battery tray.or a universal style from summit or jegs...mine has rusted out on my 62 and I'm trying to find a cheaper option then buying a factory style tray

$67 for a new OEM factory tray isn't bad. I powdercoated mine included in a job with a lot of other parts so it didn't cost much.

The stainless steel battery trays rock. I have two on my FJ62, the same part works on both sides. Been on the truck for over 10 years and with some red Scotchbrite and warm water still clean up like brand new, even the etched logo is still there.

Stainless Steel Battery Trays for TOYOTA LANDCRUISER

I have a decent OEM one. $35 shipped

Forget OEM. The Stainless trays from Noell are GREAT. As in perfect. One day your truck will be a pile of rust, but the stainless trays will still be perfect. These are the last battery trays and hold downs you will ever need. Seriously, they are perfect and nothing else is even close. They would be cheap at twice the price. Buy and don't look back.

I have no financial interest here. But they are awesome. I have 2 in my FJ60, 1 in my FJ62 and 1 in my FJ40. Really an excellent product on the down low.

In the even of thermonuclear war - your LC will be gone but I'm confident the stainless battery tray will be sitting there looking pretty.

The stainless tray is great. I put one in a couple of years ago and love it. I know it just sits there holding the battery but, still it's great

This thread kept popping up at the top of the forum so I kept reading it. I wasn't even looking for a new stainless battery tray, and I just ordered one. My OEM tray was fine...but I like things made out of metal and brawn, and you all made them sound so awesome.
PS Almost everyone on this page should probably get some kind of sales commission.

I talked to him once and he's a Cruiser dude but not on ih8mud. His name is Noell or something like that. Very nice guy.

His work place has a laser cutter and press brake they let him use after hours or some story like that. I remember he said that his laser cutter broke and he thought he would have to shut down, but I guess it's all sorted. What ever, these trays are seriously well made and professional and put Toyota's handiwork to shame.

Old thread, but great thread, I went to put a new battery in my 86 `60 and found the OEM tray a pile of powdered rust, so a quick search brought me to this thread and I ordered a SS tray today.
Thanks for the link!

Well thought out stainless kit i thought. Came with all the nuts bolts and washers needed. Wish everything was that easy!
