Costco has a interstate 27 battery with 3 year warranty for $89

View attachment 1603452
I purchased (4) Costco Interstate batteries a year ago for my other LC's (24V) and they have 42 month free replacement warrantees (vs 36 month). Perhaps they found the batteries usually die at the 42 month mark and so they dropped the warranty by 6 months. :censor:

If you’re in the San Diego county, costco santee and Carmel valley has them when I asked for any local inventory a few days ago. I picked one up in santee today.

Dallas Costco @ Coit and 75 has about 10 of them right now. Just bought mine yesterday.

I got a Diehard Platinum deep cycle battery as a stop-gap measure to adding a second battery to run my ARB fridge. So far, I've been very happy with it. Good price, starts great, runs the fridge with no worries as long as I start the truck every couple days, and great full replacement warranty. Only problem was needing to shim up the battery a bit to fit the stock holder location. No biggie.

My Diehard Platinum finally died after many years. My rig is no longer a daily driver and I let it sit all of December, January and 3/4s of February. I tried to start it today and it is dead. Sure lasted a long time. I can't get the Platinum anymore, just the Gold. They apparently quit making the Platinum.

No idea what these cost over there or what their warranty is, I have a couple of these in mine, they are combo start/deep cycle

This model is similar, start only.

They weigh 60 lb though and are big.
Cat PHO batteries exceed industry standards in all five of the following stringent tests:
100 hour vibration test
72 hour deep discharge/recharge cycle test
30 day complete discharge test
Heavy-duty life cycle test
Cold soak test

Costco price and warranty seem good though!

PRICE? SPECS? WARRANTY?
Who makes Toyota batteries in the US?

Interstate makes the true starts here in USA , I just bought a 27F series for my 1983 FJ43L-KC for $89 at my local YODA

Dealer , they have a DAM good warranty also

So what are the specs of the $130, 84 month warranty battery to suit a LC? And T's & C's of the warranty? (I don't like your clamps, prefer solid brass military style)

- Specs : 710 CCA / 165 RC

- Clamps / Terminals are Tin Plated Solid Copper W/ chemical Proof Plastic bottoms caps that contact the battery surface , this

prevents corrosion build-up over age & time

- Plus there Made in JAPAN .........

So 710 CCA and 165 reserve, same specs as Costco battery, same manufacturer, $85 verses $130, so it will depend on the warranty to which way folks want to go I expect?

the 130 price above on the image i snagged online is for parts & labor of a installed battery by a technician at toyota dealer ,

a cash and carry out the parts Dept. Door was $89

as for the Cosco thing , i was looking for 2 things the CCA & RC & the 84 Month warranty

and of course having a Factory OEM Toyota battery in your 83 Land Cruiser Presents Well & looks Kool At Car Shows when on

display , Judges give points for a detail like that ...
