ARCHIVE Battery Disconnect Overkill...my OCD will be my downfall

I just finished putting a Blue Sea m-LVD (Low Voltage Disconnect) in the engine bay after installing a fridge and since I only have one battery it made sense. It cuts the fridge off at 12.1v. This would presumably be during the night while I'm sleeping, and then the 100w solar panel would bring the battery back up in the morning. I mounted it on the side of the battery box near the distributor and it cost right around $70 bucks.

The OP's set up is awesome though!

I actually originally started with this. I wanted more. :D

Cool idea, although most main brand fridge has built in low battery cutoff. But this would be very helpful for all the other accessories like inverter......hhuummmmm

I'm in! Personally I'd like to see the fuse block where the temp gauge is and do away with the switch cut out you're using to monitor the upper and lower hoses; then it would be 100% perfect for my rig. Currently it looks like getting to a fuse would involve pulling the battery, and (knock on wood) I haven't had the need (unlike you) for a complex temperature monitoring/diagnostic system...yet (knock on wood again).

The fuse panel is indeed underneath but to get to it you just remove one 12mm bolt and the hood bumper (also 12mm). Very easy to get to.

It was a large part in figuring it out.
Very nice work, must admit if I didn't have my setup nailed down a few years ago this would be the route I'd take.

After talking to Joey and discussing the benefits of the disconnect and having the flexibility to add what ever gauge the end user desires I am sold on this. I am gong to try and adapt it to work with my Blue Sea ML-ACR dual battery system. The peace of mind knowing that I can quick disconnect the battery and isolate it in a fire makes this worth it to me. Oh and I do like gadgets! Nice work Joey.

Very nice, I would like one of these. I've been kicking around a battery disconnect and I like the design and finish. The gauge is perfect and that test lead would be very handy.

I went with the single battery Platinum solution as you have.

My only suggestion is to incorporate some monitor that would alert you when the battery drops below safe starting voltage.

Well done again, thank you for taking the time to develop my projects for me. :D

Nice work! And it would work in a 1990 HDJ81 (that has been converted to 12v start) in that position, well mine at least. But sadly not in the budget for anything like that right now.

I take it back...mine has the AC dryer next to the rad in that position and it wouldn't work :(

Do you think that you might offer it without the cutout for the large gauge, instead just a blank area that the buyer could use as they see fit? I have no real need of the temp gauge but I'd like to mount two small gauges in that area (tank pressure and line pressure) for an onboard air setup as well as a compressor switch. I'm in either way, just curious.

This is a very cool product. I wish I could use one but it will not fit an early 93 with R12 A/C. :(
