ARCHIVE Battery Disconnect Overkill...my OCD will be my downfall

This is awesome and definitely overkill, but that is what Joey does. And he does it well.

I would love to have that plate but reversed to go where my secondary battery is [passenger side] and I would mount my two battery switches on it[blue sea mini switch for winch power on/off and blue sea mini e-series 1/2/both battery control]. the rest is just that, nice xtras for eventualities.....

fantastic execution of the fab work as always.......

I considered it. I *think* all bends would just be opposite. I can verify and report back.

"IF" you could make it opposite, could it be made without all the cutouts? ie: flat blank or maybe just the small cutout for the 12volt power?
I would rather be able to have the "holes" cut to fit my blue sea mini switches in a "recessed" configuration. I know I know, but just visualizing what I would like under the hood where my second battery is. I may "borrow" the mounting part idea [the way it sits in front of the battery is super clean] and see if my buddy can make a simple plate that I can hole saw two openings in to recess the mini switches in, he is currently having one of his shop guys fab me a relay plate for all my light/slee harness relays on the corner beside the factory battery box

if I could have one custom made for me it would be shaped the same as yours only for the secondary battery side and the lower panel I would mount a relay socket for my 4 relays to plug into and maybe a small fuse block and have the two holes on the upper flat panel for my blue sea mini switches plus the 12V power socket[that is a nice touch] I think without the water temp guage two mini switches should fit up there.

I have a couple of these early prototypes. Only one hole cut out. All mounting would work the same. Just cut out the holes you want and then bend. There is no tolerancing on the bends since the wouldn't interfere with anything. Let me know and I can just send you this. BTW it's 18g not 14g because I needed to work with the material with the tools I have in my garage.

I could definitely make something work with that. my email is topazblue330ci@gmail.com. send me details I will take it

So this solved your overheating issue? :)

i know this is another subject but with the overheating, have you cleaned up all the ground points? a bad ground will cause bad readings... and im probably beating a dead horse...

My issue seems to be pointed to an exhaust leak at O2 #2

I am like many a true 'gadget man', and this is one of those gadgets that I would have bought if it had came up way back before I did my own mods. I agree with those who mentioned they would like to see blanks, one made up for each side, offer them with or without powder coating/holes and it could bring in some handy revenue? Everyone is different and I do not agree with anyone who says nobody would buy one, some like to mix and match for example, I do not like the National Luna split charge system but, I do like their battery condition monitor, I do like Blue Seas 'stuff' and their split charger is brilliant so did a mix and match, works/looks great and perhaps more importantly 'I' like it. :flipoff2:

Carry on the good work and by using the forum as a sounding board, you are getting a wide variety of opinions.

regards

Dave

This is some fantastic work. Your mind is definitely "outside the box." Bringing new ideas to the 80 world.
I'll be watching the development from afar since the 3FE doesn't get the love [yet].
Keep up the great designs!

Well this isn't an OBD-2 project. Its just a DS mounting project. Making one that fits the PS is just about bending the wings one direction vs another.

I like it. Too bad that real estate on mine is taken already.

That real estate is currently occupied by my winch solenoid pack...I plan to find a new home for that though.

Can it take the locking FR dicsonnect? I have three NIB!

The FR Disconnect is the same one. Only difference is your has the black anodized bracket. All of mine have those brackets as well but I'm just throwing those away :meh:

Cool product!

Ok, I took 24 hours to think about this. I'm in. I want one. Take my money. Also, I am planning to order the accessory panel for the console when I get back from vacation on the 15th and the lockbox when it's available.

Random late night idea: How about offering a "Wits End Edition" plaque/emblem for the outside of rigs that have a bunch of your accessories? Kind of like the Yenko of the 80 series world.
