Not that it really matters, but if he parked it when the key for the gas cap went missing, where is the downpipe for the exhaust?

Bolted to the exhaust manifold?

It's there. Kinda hard to see. Not to be stupid again but i see there is a brake booster so i'm guessing there is power brakes.... so what about power steering?

Doesn't matter anyways... once i rip out that old engine & stuff a 5.9 cumins in there, i'll install p/steering. :steer::steer::doh:

ROTFLMAO, you learn fast. And no, you don't have power steering but you could add a stock system very easy if you fabbed a mount on top of that alternator for a PS pump.

BTW fluffybunny - How do I get in contact with the brother. Send me a pm with details. Do not post on this thread.

congrats on the find, good luck on the resto. Also, good luck billing the guy for any future work you do on his ac or heater units. I see him calling you every week to recoup his money :)

Here is a deal i'm offering you, i will trade you a 1982 BJ42 with the engine of you choice for you HJ45. Not sure you understand here, unless you are joking. You don't put any other engine in a fully original cobra..

But heck it is your money... :bang:

What you want to do is restore the engine and get a turbo...

i bring you my ex-wife for your hj45,plus a ride to the moon if you think change the original priceless HJ45..or just wait for hurricane IKE...and let us take care of that dream Toy.....jajjajaajaja

I'm just kidding around... I'm gonna keep it. When i do restore it, i'll keep it bone stock, just like it came from the factory. No mods.

Ooooooh, you should have messed with us a little bit longer, it was getting interesting. Anyhoo, glad to hear you plan to keep her stockish. Congrats again.

12HT and a H55F tranny sound great.
My mouth is watering at the sight of this rig.

NO way...

OK, I just gotta weigh in because I haven't been able to sleep these past few nights after seeing this post-

Fluffybunnysui, you truly do SUCK for finding such a gem while many others only dream of such a find. Was there any actual negotiating on the price? I mean, did he ask $1k and then you talked him down to $800?

Doesn't matter (and I was kidding about the "you suck"; I feel better now), I guess it's better that it now has ATTENTION, even if that attention isn't lavished by ME, rather than have it sit another 10 years and run the risk of kids vandalizing it.

But once again, like the farmer who lets a classic sit in his field 'till it rots rather than fix it or sell it, how does a person just allow something like this to sit idle, for want of a simple gas cap, for so many years? I don't get it...

But allow me to also congratulate you, THAT was a score.

If you decide not to restore or run out of time due to other projects (happens all the time), do us all a favor and post it up here. Not like I'd be able to afford it, but at least it might not go to a "collector" who will ZZ top-it.

Oh, and don't put those white spoke wagon wheels on it, please.

Great find Fluffybunny. It's great to find other cruiser heads in the area. I'm in Victoria. Hard to believe that such a great cruiser was found so close to where I'm at. Damn I never get so lucky. Would be great to wheel once we both get our rigs up and running.
