Ya know, I agree with all the guys salivating over your lucky find.
But you really should do something nice for the guy that sold it to you, once you realize what good fortune has come your way.
By everyone's account you stole it, and you'll financially make out great, whether you simply wash it off, fix it up, or turn it.
Keep the good Karma going !!
You are one lucky bastard !

Good idea. Make sure that man does not run out of pizza for a year. Give him a beer-of-the-month membership or something.

Dan

Mike,

It's not your computer; Mel is blocking out the Cruiser Porn. She told me that she wants a new outfit, and every time you open Mud your Cruiser gets new clothes instead. Once I tell Mel how nice it is, you may never see pictures of this HJ45:) Just imagine the Cruiser pickup that we always talked about finding when we were sitting round the campfire in the San Juans- that's it.

Cheers,

Josh

x2 I'd get him both, a pizza a month and beer of the month setup for the year. I just wanted to add, an outstanding find, great deal. Welcome to the madness that are diesel cruisers, now get yourself over to the diesel section with the rest of the members of the black smoke brotherhood. Welcome to Mud.

That is one hell of a score fluffybunny! If it were me I would have paid the man and had that truck towed out of there the same day before he has a chance to change his mind. For your sake I hope one of his kids does not get on the interweb to lookup what the value of that truck is before he delivers it to you.

Jeeez Louise! Freakin' unbelievable!

Congrats on an incredible find and deal. That rig, sitting in the barn like that and all, is just truly a dream come true for many of us. Thanks for sharing and I hope we can be involved with the resurrection of such a fine Land Cruiser. I also hope you keep this rig and enjoy it for many years to come.

Cheers, Carlos.

Good job! Congratulations too!

It appears there's no fuel cover. If the cap has a lock on it, it's an aftermarket cap. If you can find the vender, a locksmith may be the answer. Of course, gas caps (like drawer locks) are very simple. You may be able to pick it. If I'm wrong and you have a cover over the fuel cap, it should be keyed to the ignition key. Many of the original keys are so worn down now, they've become master keys and will work. Just FYI,
Happy Trails! N

i would like to quote the "Holy Cruiser-head wet dream" and "get ready to spend money you didnt even know you had" comments

the wet dream comment about sums up how i felt when i saw that first picture.... when you said how much you spent on her my thoughts turned to the previous owner.... and i just hope not only for his sake, but for the personal safety of his family, and co-workers, that he never EVER finds out what he lost... b/c im sure he would go not just postal but ATOMIC POSTAL on a rampage that would span at least 3 states... (i mean IF i had been the guy to sell that thing to you for 800 bucks hell for 8000$$ my rampage would be something likened to that of the flood or the eruption at pompeii...)

you are a lucky lucky lucky lucky man..... but let me relay the BEST advice anyone has EVER given me about an FJ.... take that thing buy a car cover for it, clean out a very dry, very dark, very back corner of your garage... BUY a new house w/a bigger garage if you need to, and just PARK that thing in there for another 10-20 years THEN with those years gone and past post pictures of that thing.... see the response you get.... id bet that Donald Trump wouldnt be able to pocket what that thing would be worth.

and of course welcome to the madness :flipoff2:

I believe that for some reason...I tell her she looks much better behind the wheel of the Cruiser than any outfit you can buy....I suppose she is terrified of the stories when the steering shaft came off...or the leaf spring broke in half...or maybe it's the fact that there are really no body mounts holding you to the frame....I tell her it's more flexible that way :steer:

Cheerios Mate,
Mike

P.S. Could someone email me a picture or two...I can't really afford to have one of my own in the driveway for the wife to set in...:ban:
