Bad experience with Mosley Motors, dragged out over 6 months. caveat emptor.

My offer for you to bring back all of your parts still stands. We can be done with this today.

Wash out the radiator, flush the hose, don’t cause any damage beyond what happens during installation, and we can part ways.

Bring parts, reverse the chargeback, and I will send you a full refund AND eat all of the fees.

Deal of a lifetime

For a second, let’s forget about the time delays. Things happen, at no fault of the business or even the supplier. The main problem I see is trying to hold the customer responsible for the wrong product. If the harness didn’t match the customer’s spec, why would he have to foot the bill for shipping? That doesn’t make sense. In fact, it’s really not even Cameron’s responsibility, if in fact it was actually ordered per spec. So that tells me all I need to know about Mosley Motors. Reading this thread takes me back to working construction. Cameron, you’ll make a great subcontractor when you grow up (if you ever do).

I am here to learn and improve, and you can bet there will be several changes going forward to help prevent this in the first place.

I guess I’m missing something then, because it “feels” pretty cut and dry to me.

Dude me and you parted ways quite a long time ago. This is just getting more and more ridiculous. Just stop.

Are you a shill for the OP?

No but I’ve got plenty of experience dealing with slipshod companies. It’s gotten pretty easy to spot them.
Cam is anything but a slipshod shop. He is a great guy and does whatever he can to assist his customers. He is also just an average dude hustling it up in Memphis as a small business owner. The fact that OP feels necessary to start reciting CFR regs in this instance tells me everything I need to know. He should go lease a Jeep.

I don’t know man, trying to charge someone for the incorrect item doesn’t sound like the mark of a good business to me.

It’s clearly more complicated than that. It took the OP about 42 paragraphs to outline the situation.
I’m not looking at all of it right now, I said I wanted to focus on the harness. If it was ordered a certain way and was built differently (not conforming to the customer’s spec) then it’s the wrong harness. Why would OP need to pay a restocking and shipping fee for the wrong harness? That’s all I want to know. If someone has an actual answer, please let me know.

Our aim with custom ordered products is to deliver the product ordered. There is a human factor involved with everything we sell and mistakes happen. I felt we were on the same page working toward making that happen when he ordered another harness without even reaching out.

**Edit: The basis for my decision in this particular case was my 7+ year relationship with Brian. Having observed his pattern of behavior for that long, I felt he was being disingenuous with his reason for return. I believe it was a calculation on his part. **

At this point, Brian has charged back the entire $1109.59 balance to his transaction with the reason ‘did not receive the purchased product”. The remainder of his purchase was refunded prior. I have paid $86.43 in credit card processing fees for his transaction plus a chargeback fee.

Brian has now paid $0 for his order and still has the radiator and power steering hose.

I am only asking for him to reverse the chargeback if he’d like to keep the parts OR bring back the parts, and we can change the chargeback to a full refund.

There is nothing left for me to add.

**Even in the chargeback process, the pattern continued. Mistake on the credit card company or not, Brian knows exactly the status and balances of all of his credit cards at all times. When I didn’t refund him enough, I received a text within minutes. Both times he received more than he asked for, crickets.**

Excuse me? Do i need to post a confirmation email from CAPONE as well?

Eh looks like Capitol one charged back a different amount than what was on the confirmation they sent me. (just sent the $66 confirmation to you privately). Getting this corrected now.

WTF is so difficult with just returning the items you apparently don't want to pay for now and put this entire thing to bed? Maybe I am wrong but with the total of the chargeback and what has already been refunded you shouldn't have anything in your possession?

Having been at this for a few years I have gotten the pleasure to know and use several good vendors including Cam and others who have posted on this thread. I sent him 24v Alternator and starter prior to him stopping this service and he wasn't pleased with his ability to finish one of them to his satisfaction so he didn't charge me. This provides some insight to his character. This spring I will be buying a sniper set up from him and was looking last night at the hi performance 2F he sells for quote when he is caught up. Cam will get my business in the future outside of this thread and I have to believe others will use him also as they will see past this situation.

What I don't understand is the apparent attempt to undermine his business/character outside of Ih8mud which has been confirmed from some very reputable folks. Are your feelings hurt so much you want to destroy the hard work he has put into his business? You don't grow a business by treating customers like s*** and I have a hard time thinking he did or he wouldn't be so busy he has to suspend certain activities. There seems to be a generation of victims these days no matter what anyone says or does and it's all bull****.

@FJ60Cam Just got off the phone w capone, they made a mistake on the chargeback and said it will be fixed today to reflect the originally requested $66. Ive sent you the original confirmation from them, and ill send you the confirmation of them fixing their mistake when i receive it.

I paid for everything i have, The chargeback was for the outstanding balance on a harness that i did not get, the bank made a mistake that i did not know about until this morning and it was promptly fixed.

The character insight and experience is fine, I have not once said anything against it, just relaying the facts of the situation that i experienced.

Again i am not trying to destroy anything. Mosleys name has been left out of everything i do publicly until this thread blew up. I spoke to a few people privately about my experience. Thats it.

Mosley’s name was absolutely not left out of your random, Unrequested texts to Land Cruiser owners in the Memphis area and the UPS guy which is the whole beef I have with you.

You proactively took your butthurt into a smear campaign around Memphis. I’d say 90% of those texts went straight to Mosley with a WTF?

He kept this to himself. You are the one that started this. Shame on you for acting like you are just minding your own business here.
