There isn't many compound curves in this truck but I found one. Welding glove and a ball peen hammer shaped this funky door bottom.

Just cruising along

Everybody has their own way getting these little f-duckers out. This is my way. I will just add0-a-leaf from an old 60 pak I had lying around and see what it looks like.

Nice progress. What I heard, not sure if it’s true. Long leafs add load, shorter leafs add lift. Not sure how that works, just what someone said once. I’d think a combination to spread the load along the length. That truck got to the right home.

I’ve always shied away from heating the frame… but have seen that heat is the way to go to remove them.

I’d recommend having a fire extinguisher nearby… I’m sure it’s just out of frame though.

When I first replaced mine in ‘92 I drilled, pressed and fought mine out. In ‘94 they came out of the replacement frame easier. If needed I’d use the hot wrench now.

Keep up the great work. I only wish I could make the progress you have been making.

It looks like your rear crossmember has been abused a bit… oh well, it’s only metal. :D

My $75 dollar 2" lift. $50 for the bushings and $25 for 8 leaf spring centering bolts. Ya I only needed four but its nice having some extras in the shop. My poser anti inversion shackles, I thought I was going to go the stock route but these look decent.

Hopefully the weather holds up and I'll get the front done too. I might add a small caster shim to correct the steering because of the 2" taller shackles.

Yes it looks some f-tard tried yanking this truck out by the rear cross member 5-6 times and just mangled it. The only bad spot on the frame. I already spent an hour with the oxy/propane and a sledge hammer to get it to look like this.

Your going cruiser crazy!

It doesn’t look so bad now. If you need to borrow an oxyacetylene torch let me know. I’m not sure how hot the oxy/propane as I’ve not used it previously. I have used the oxyacetylene to heat and bend a lot of steel plate… including my rear tub.

Thanks for the offer but I will slowly mangle it back in place with the tools I have.

Thanks Mr potato. I like these ornate pieces of steel to create. An English wheel would be sweet but I have zero space left in my shop.

Well I got the front done, I might reduce the shackle length in the front if the steering is weird? This is how she sits, much happier with 33' tires under her.

Just a sneak peak teaser/cruiser porn. The front hub cabs are coming next week. I will paint the stock black factory rims a dark grey

So I guess you wouldn't really call this a restoration. But I am making it better and that's what counts to me. This fender was severely bent when I purchased the truck. I hammered and hand dollied it out for about two hours. Ain't perfect but will do!

I didnt get a whole heck of a lot done today but I did find some duplicolor ford grey that I liked. I know, ford paint, turn on the hate. lol

Also I had a saggy gas tank so I whipped up a new strap for her old age and sagginess.
