Ok, so i am rebuilding my rear axle and i found my drivers side is heavily pitted. I thought the issue were bearings but hey, live and learn. I have been scouring the net for a drivers axle shaft, and while there are many vendors out there, I cannot find a left hand shaft. Anyone that you guys can recommend, so that I can place an order? Oh, and i used the search function to no avail.
Any advice is appreciated.

If they don't have any they may be able to tell you where to get one. I just checked Partsouq they show the semi floating axle as NLA, ask @beno he pretty much is the wizard of toyota parts availability. Alternately a used axle shaft from cruiserparts.net or off a parted out vehicle.

I've been thinking I should go thru my rear axles and rebuild them as they have not been touched and it's over 300k miles now. This would be good info to know. Also if you want to modify a semi floating to FF or chromoly it would be nice to see a resource.

Thanks for the replies. I have a spare axle but it is also pitted. I would rather get new.

Hey Onur, all the best bud.
Cheers

you want new or good used?

Good used it fine. I have one but it's also pitted. I do have an additional truck that I can pull one out of but don't know what I'll find in there.
Have you a spare?

What I had was a hummm- ing nise. Not continuous but rather hummm...hummm... hummm with every rotation of the wheel. About half the circumference of the shaft is pitted, as you see in the pictures. At first I thought it was the bearing but when I pulled the axle I never cleaned it to see. I swapped bearings, installed seals then cleaned axle to install and that is when I found the pitting. Pulled my spare out of the shed and it also has some pitting. Not as bad but not worth installing. Have to pull yet one more out of the other truck to see if I get lucky. I'd rather just purchase one just to be sure.
