So I have been putting miles on the 93 I have put together. Stock gears and 35's. I cruised up afton at 65-70 no problem in 3rd gear.

Is this good, average, sucks??????
I thought it ran up just fine and was able to pass without dripping to 2nd.

About the same in my LX. Same set up, 315s and stock 4.10s.

I think we need to schedule a drag race up afton mountain in December :)
Nothing like a sub-speed limit, street legal drag race.

We will get an 80 in the left lane doing 55 and one in the right doing 54 mph

Just for comparison, I flat towed my 75 FJ40 up it with my 86 4runner, 22RE, 4:88's and 33's. Held 55 mph! I never flat towed with it again, the 40 pushed it all over at low speeds.. I loved that 4runner, sold it to buy my first house!

Obviously not having a roof rack and wind deflector made your rig slick and goose poop and you simply sliced through the air.

Add all the proper "overlanding" instagram accountrement, and you're gonna s-t-r-u-g-g-l-e.

:princess: ;)

Sounds average. The bigger issue is coming down the west side bends if you have large lift it feels like you're gonna flip if you do over 60 around those curves.

Was that the same 4Runner you endo’d on dictum in harrisonburg years ago? Had a big warn sticker on the hood?

No, this was clean blue one with black top. I did not wheel it hard. Had it in college and then sold it to buy a house. The 85 in my avatar is the one from Dictum ridge. I bought that after I bought my house. It was a stock SR5 with all power options and roof. That was around for 17 years. I still have the hood and some other body parts, need to get them hung on the garage wall.
