Excited to get this thing done! Guys at @ACC Toyota doing their thing!

24g going in.

Gotta say... :hillbilly:

24g tank is just plain awesome.
Highly recommend to anyone with their spare already on a swingout.

No problem fitting it with Slee rear bumper in place, either.

Testimonial regarding clearance with the 24 gallon unit:

I spent three and a half weeks beating up my armor between Moab, Telluride, and Breckenridge...and despite tons of hard hits to EVERYTHING underneath (skids, rear diff, shock mounts/guards, bent rear control arm, the entire surface of the bottom of rear bumper, sliders and more...)

...Not a single, solitary touch to my up-armored 24 gal. LRA! This thing is just so nicely tucked.

Also... with my heavy rig, I can’t even tell ya how nice it is to have literally double fuel capacity with no hassle of rotopax or Jerry can time, spills, stink, crud and general PITA-ness of cans.

Lowest possible center of gravity...fast fill/transfer time...boiling gas remedied...peace of mind...

Georg at Valley Hybrids is awesome, and even accommodated a faster pump I had found for transfers.

Highly...highly recommended!

PS. Price-wise...
You can avoid seriously expensive Jerry cans and even more expensive RotiPax cans, mounts, locks that can add up to easily over $700 (Rotopax accessories are pricey!) ...so you could apply those costs toward an LRA install instead.

If you’re on the fence...I’d jump on the discount. Fantastic mod you won’t regret.

I'll echo all of Marks comments except I haven't been off-road yet with it set up. I am amazed how nicely tucked it is. No worries at all about hitting it. Programmable system as well. I'm on full manual, but had to change to that, and it was a breeze. Lots of options to consider.

Ward, I'll snap a few tomorrow and post them here.

Thank you sir!

yesterday drove back from cruiserfest in Salt lake and having the aux tank was awesome. Worked great

Took a few shots today. Fact is, there isn't much to shoot which is exactly why I'm liking the 24g so much. You just don't know it's there until you hit the switch and start transferring the fuel.

This shot I tried to get as even as I could so you can get a clear picture of where it hangs lower than the bumper. I have the RLC bumper which is very high profile compared to most others. You can see just behind the tires where the tank is.

Guys at @ACC Toyota did a great job with the install so any of you Atlanta folks looking for this mod, they are your go-to place.

So our moderators banished my atta-boy-Valley Hybrids...to the Chit-Chat thread which I have zero interest in frequenting. . Sooo... posting it here in the LRA thread because it’s worth knowing:

Georg’s Valley Hybrids was just named 2018’s BUSINESS OF THE YEAR by TLCA’s Toyota Trails Magazine. :)

I am personally grateful to Georg and his partner Ward Harris...for taking on the massive task of bringing one of Australia’s most-wished-for mods to the US market, and the 200 Series in particular. I love my armored 24 gallon sub tank!

AND... They are now bringing KAYMAR to the US!! I remember wishing for Kaymar with my 100 series, and VH is now making that a viable option.

Well deserved, guys!

I'm loving my 40 gal. One question to the group, or Ward. When I turn mine on, I can hear it run for the first 2-3 seconds, while the pump is dry. After that, its silent. When it gets low, and I am on sweeping curves or really leaning, I might hear it again for a couple of seconds.

I have noticed that when it gets really low, it seems to shut off, before it is actually empty. I know (I think) that it is not empty, because despite it beeping and shutting off, if I turn it back on, I cannot hear the pump running. And I can do that several times before I can actually start to hear the pump again. I had noticed before that often when I refill the tank I'm putting in 36-38.5 gallons.

Thought, comments..?

@Chrisleduc1 not really specific to your LRA question, however I ran a low buck racing team for about 5 years, doing sports car endurance racing (chumpcar). Due to the way the rules worked, it was imperative for us to get every ounce of gas out of a tank before we pitted. We experimented with Holley's Fuel Mat ( called Hydramat: HydraMat - Holley Performance Products ). We ended up not using it because we thought it was breaking the series rules (I guess that's why we never won overalls, we were to honest :D ).

Now with that said, in our testing, holy crap did it work, we could run the tank BONE DRY in our test car. This might be something worth looking in to for the LRA tanks, if you think the issue is that the fuel pump is running dry. Price-wise you are looking in the $200ish range. Just some food for thought.

I was thinking the same thing when I in stall my 40. Be nice if it had full pickup and some foam to avoid the sloshing around.

We used the same pickup, came installed in the tank from FuelSafe.com and was to spec's for offroad racing.

I ask only because the pump I have makes a lot of noise. It rattles terribly.
It should only rattle terribly when the tank is empty and there is no fuel for it to pump.
