Thanks for the insight. The aux tank on my FJ-40 is very tricky to fill with the nozzle having to be just at the right angle. Now to sell the 60.

Does your 40 have an LRA aux tank? The angle of the filler hose is crucial and can be tricky on a 40 since you have to route the filler between the body and frame rail.

I wonder if a road trip is in order when I get my 200 Series to have some stuff installed.

Hehe... Nah...I still haven’t managed to hit mine!

**In other news...**
I finally found some of my own 24 install photos:

Slee bumper also stays in place no problem during installation...

A couple of 30 second zips is all...

Thing is a piece of modern art, and VH added my requested extra armor so well it looks like it came that way...

Twin fill holes hidden nicely under the stock cap...

Thing is so high and tucked, you literally have to TRY to see it...

LRA via VH is just plain top notch all the way around. Thanks Georg, Ward & Co.

What rear bumper do you have in the first picture?

Dear George -
I bought a knuckle kit on eBay but am not sure how to install it, can you call me to walk me through what goes where?

Thanks,
Mooch

That really does happen. And usually it’s after hours on my cell .....

I still have my FJ40 with an LRA I installed in '90s. That's right about the angle, but I didn't have any problems except to use a better transfer pump. I even considered adding a splitter so I could fill my lame buddys' trucks without a siphon.

I have this aux tank on another vehicle and instead of inserting the hose at the normal point at 12 oclock position I turn it 90 degrees when filling and then it fills fine, but at the 12 oclock position it keeps shutting off.

I stopped by a station earlier today to confirm the ability to INDUCE auto shutoff with angle change . Yes. Easy to induce.

So...consistent with my initial issues With first fills last July...and basically no issues 6 months later after frequent use/familiarity... it does get easier if you know what you need to avoid doing. Remember, too, that even familiar pumps can become problematic filling any vehicle.

May very well be ONLY the angle and less to do with recapture pumps. Hard to test here since we only have fume-recapture pumps to fiddle with...but easy for others to try on regular pumps.

Here's the 40 gallon LRA in my 2016. Slee looks to have done a very nice job with this install.

I'll report back on user experience as I garner some data.

Any idea where I can get a new filler hose? I looked at mine and it is all cracked . Thanks

Con-Ferr changed their name to OffRoadUnlimited .. they are in Burbank, Cali but they don't do tanks anymore .. they sub them from titan, if I remember right?

News to me . My belief was con-Ferr went out of business a long time ago and their items were are hard to find items. Such as my FJ-40 aux fuel tank and front between frame rail tool box. .
Maybe man-a-fre can help. But we are a little off topic since this is the 200 forum.

Filler hose can also be found at West Marine.
