Too far north. Too far east.
Looks like we'll be enjoying a poolside beverage in Santa Barbara that evening. We'll try to make September.

Being one of those "new guys" I'm going to see if I can massage my schedule to make it.....

Dan

New guys (and gals) are always welcome. Hope you can make it.

Marc

I think I can actually make this one... I'm not leaving town until the following Monday.
This time it'll probably be just me- I don't want to subject new people to the kids just yet.

There will be plenty of kids at this (and every) HDC meeting so you don't need to worry about "subjecting" us to them. I've got a 4 year old girl and 5 year old boy if you're worried about them being bored. There's typically a good range of kids from a few months up to teenagers. Now if you want to use this gathering as an excuse to escape the kids for a few hours, feel free, but you'll only be escaping your kids.

as mentioned, Steve will be running this one. i have to work.:crybaby:
the good news is, i should have my cruiser fixed by Monday.

I think I want to get acquainted with the group first, so I will definitely be there this meeting.

My wife wants me to take the kids, but I might be hard pressed to get the three year old to leave, since he's even more of a car nut than I am...

What do we bring?

Quick question, are there any other 100-series owners in the group? I have read a few of the 80 vs 100 series threads, and know how many view the 100's.

I just want to be prepared when I come, for the hazing.

I think the 80vs100 thing is more good hearted fun here on MUD than anything else.

That said, if you come with an attitude like Schotts, be prepared for punishment...

:flipoff2:

Just kidding. The main reason I think Schotts gets crapped on is because of his attitude, but the guy can wheel his junk--I don't care what anyone says.

You are welcome with whatever kind of Toyota truck you drive. We are all inclusive (hell, they took me in........barely).

I'll be driving my Saab. :flipoff2:

We don't haze 100-Series owners, just obnoxious 60-Series owners. :D

Steve M from Santa Fe is a club member and he has a very tricked out 100. Steve has been on a couple of runs but I have heard he is dealing with some health issues right now so it might be a while before he is back in action.

Here is the best pic that I have of SteveM's 100. He was getting a little tug from Cajun_Transplant to get him out of the creek.

I then flew up this same hill in my 80:flipoff2:. Just messing.

I will try to make it, with membership app. and dues

If anyone not going to the meeting Saturday is going to Moab, you might want to make your wishes as far as runs, camping spots, etc. known before then. Post it or PM me, either way.

I don't think everyone is camping out at E Hill - including us. I'm not even sure when that faction is coming back into town. Also, my better half is talking about going hiking one day. I think we (the ones staying in town?) might be doing Behind the Rocks / Tiptoe Behind the Rocks* on Friday, Fins 'n Things on Saturday, and Golden Spike on Sunday. That's just an initial suggestion though, and is subject to change, depending on what the majority wants to do when.

* These two are parallel and vehicles can shift back and forth, correct?

Is there another campground reserved for those staying out at E Hill, or is it limited to three rigs?

This will be cross posted to the Moab thread.

Marc -

Ellen and I are planning to attend. Thanks for hosting!

Also, here's some thoughts on the October Moab trip that we may be discussing at the meeting (also posted on the Moab trip thread):

We can talk more about it at the meeting (for those who are there), but I would lean towards Steve's agenda, that is, staying in town and using Moab as a home base. I've run Elephant Hill the last two years in a row. It's a great trail, but I'm ready for a change. It's also far (~ 70 miles) from the town of Moab and far from most of the trails around town.

I also like Steve's trail suggestions - Behind the Rocks / Tiptoe Behind the Rocks on Friday, Fins 'n Things on Saturday, and Golden Spike on Sunday. I've done Golden Spike before - it's a blast, but may be beyond the capabilities of some of the more stock rigs. The same may be true for Behind the Rocks. We may end up with two parallel groups doing different (more or less difficult) trails, depending on truck and driver capabilities.

Just throwing ideas around...

Evan

We're still planning on E. Hill. Beyond that we'll go with the flow and make it up as we go along.

So, I guess that campground is full with Jon, Rory, and Greg (and families). If anybody else wants to camp out at E Hill they need to get another spot...
