Baby due on the 26th, Hurricane Creek on the 25th. Maybe she'll come the 24th. Cruiser Logic right?
@GLTHFJ60 maybe start a new thread but I'm going to put the Idea out there. After this weekends events it got me thinking. ONSC should do our own version of a Rally, tying in Hurricane Creek. 500+ miles. of course Treading lightly.

lol. In October, I'm taking two weeks in a row for a 9 day honeymoon in st lucia.

I am 100% sure that @Izzyandsue and I would CRUSH said rally. Granted I may fly off a cliff somewhere.

Unfortunately my better half has informed me that we have friends coming in from out of town for the weekend August HC is scheduled for. Unfortunately this means that someone else will have to step up to lead this trip.
As much as I hate to do it, I need someone to step up to lead this trip. Whomever steps up I will provide waypoints and tracks to use.

I wish I could but I don't know those roads well enough to lead.

Would have been happy to , but same dates as over the mountain tour , with upstate.was going to that first.
Idea, get in touch with Izzy and ask him which maps you'll need for the area. Dave and Raf know where HC cuts off Rt 40. This trip can be a lesson in map reading etc. You're overlanders for Christ sake

Me? An overlander? I don't even own any fancy overlanding clothes!
I went last year and have tooled around Max Patch area before but "leader" would be a stretch. I think we show up to Sierra Nevada that Friday with some maps, full fuel tanks, and low expectations. We can wing it from there. Guaranteed good time.

Make it fun. Dont sweat dead ends and turn arounds. Leave time for unexpected. Lots of great pavement drives there too.
Id be glad to help plan a route ahead of time but feel it wouldnt be fair to commit to leading with an uncertain schedule ahead. Id hate to volunteer and need to bail last moment.
