My new Marlin Crawler rebuilt steering box started leaking from the inout shaft area. Stoked that they had a replacement to me with a couple days. Really cool of them. Hadn't had that great of luck with with them when a wrong clutch kit was sent to me a decade or more ago, so pleasantly surprised.
I'm shocked they stood by their work/product.

Rebuilt engine is going in after a decent holding pattern waiting for the stage 2 Head from 22re Performance. OG head was warped. Sourced most the parts from them after deciding to buy the head replacement from them.
I decided that the rebuild was going to be beyond my capacity and hired a mechanic. Painted with an Olds Gold as a nod to the graphics and soft top.
Getting a new Aisin clutch kit as well. Turns out even though there was low miles the oil rings froze to the cylinders.
Thats why it was eating a quart of oil every 250 miles.

Back when I had an ‘85 Northwest Off Road built some excellent lift springs and a pretty nifty header for these rigs. Anybody on here still using them?

We had another term for NWOR.

No Warranty Or Return

Lil update. Engine is broken in and running great. Had some cold start idle issues, even some hesitation while warmed up and at a consistent driving speed. Most of that was solved with replacing the Aux Air Valve with a new used one. Cold start is no problem and now has its high rpms while warming up. Most of the hesitation at speed is gone and I doubt most would notice it so I'm leaving it for now.

It was almost going to be used in a Toyota commercial but toyota legal said, "No after market suspension!" Oh well.
On the bright side... I got the soft top on for summer. Wife drove it out to the dessert for a lil RnR

In directly related to the 4runner but I tried my hand at lettering on the trailer.

Theres a sticker on the back of the hard top that reads "Not in a hurry" ;)

Nothing exciting but put in a new alternator. Thought I was going to have to remove a rad hose from what I read online, especially with the upgrade steering pieces, but only needed to find the angel and push the lower rad hose outa the way.
Also got around to replacing the generic lap belts with some shoulder belts from seatbelt planet.

Those seat belts rock. Too bad I ditched the back seat.

Getting ready to sell the 4runner unfortunately, but its motivated me to finish up some things I always wanted to get to.
First was I hired a PDR guy to come out. His quote was if I was to remove the interior panels for easy access. After he was finished I installed some sound deadening to each panel, new oem window runs, after market door weather stripping, painted the tail light bezel, painted roll bar, trailer harness replacement. Sourced the three missing mudflaps and brackets, then refreshed them. I have to say if you haven't sound deadened your rig, do so. I have a new love for this truck.
