My OCD is killing me.... Is there a trick to getting the stainless hose to line up correctly?

It’s crimped to where the ends are In-line with each other and there’s no give when trying to rotate it.

I had the same problem. A Husky compressor tank drain hose from Depot is a perfect fit. And then the port on the right feeds along fender to bumper.

I remember asking someone about it at Slee and they said the hose ends could be rotated but I couldn’t get them to budge and ended up crimping the hose.

Yes, you can take the black shroud off and loosen some items and them rotate the small air chamber to a different angle. Hint, don't go all the way, it won't clear there either. Go about 75%. Directions in the manual.

Yes, the compressor outlet and manifold ends can be rotated, but I couldn't find a combination to match the slee pictures. To make it work, the stainless/braided hose needs to have some give in it, but it's too stiff. I'm going to check out @OregonLC's recommendation on the new hose.

Pics of the magic you performed at the bumper?

Ok, yeah, I didn't install the manifold or get the manifold kit; I see how those are hard lined there. Frustrating.

Chamber easily rotates. It’s the elbows on the hose that didn’t

No magic, just air line routing along the side between the fuse box/battery and fender.

I also had trouble getting the stainless hose to connect to the manifold. Eventually gave up and left the manifold off the car.

Probably my fault (poor technique, not uber strength, I'm sure), but trying that caused the tubing to twist and start to crimp. So rather than deal with a compromised fitting I went with a different hose that has a cast brass fitting.

This is the alternate hose if anyone wants a reference. It's much more flexible than the original and is perfect in length. The valve is threaded, so you can remove it and you're left with a 1/4" MIP straight end and a 1/4" MIP elbow end. The elbow provides the perfect height transition for hood clearance and the threads are pre-doped for sealing. If desired, you can re-purpose the valve to control an outlet.

If you don't own these, buy them. They are a great tool and can be used as a wrench without rounding off bolt / nut heads. I have these in all my toolkits

At my shop, they’re simply referred to as “bitchen pliers”, have been for over fifteen years. IMO Any tech worth their weight has all the sizes :p

Any way I can coax you into an updated link? I'm getting a generic knipex page now.

Thanks guys.
