ARB Compressor Rear Interior Mount

I would think the electrical issue is not caused by a specific mount but anything is possible. Mine is a '14 so maybe things have changed. There was a fair amount of disconnecting, moving and reconnecting electrical connections involved also. If you do elect to mount as shown and need to add remote air chucks I suggest using SynFlex tubing and DOT push pull fittings both available on Amazon if not locally sourced.

Why did you have to make me go view the video for the LINX system... I am ruined. In addition to the compressor install, I have in the near future, 2 LEDs going on the bumper, possible lightbar, rear lights and side working lights, second battery and front & rear diff lockers. I love the idea of not adding switches for all of this... Sorry, off topic, but I coming to learn that MUD tends to do that to a person.

The modules are the neat part, those are the things like pressure setting to air up tires, air bags, etc. I'm optimistic a dual battery controller will come into play.
 
I’m of two minds about the Linx system. It is neat. It likely reduces cost of installing some accessories, as you may be able to avoid disassembling and reassembling the dash to install switches.

But I’m uncomfortable having to rely on my phone and Bluetooth to control things like lights and lockers. My Escort radar detector connects to my phone via Bluetooth. Well, it used to, before an IOS upgrade this summer. That may be fixable with a downloadable upgrade to my radar detector — at least that is easily removable fro the truck, which I suspect may not be true for the Linx.

The Linx comes with it's own display. But I hear ya. It's a neat system but for the over $1000 it'll cost to control your lockers and a few lights (other moduals notwithstanding)? I'm all set. I'd prefer the sPod. But, whatever tickles your pickle.

I like shiny bells and whistles as much as any guy... but this looks like it violate the KISS rule. Critical tasks (airing up, lockers, lighting) is left to an Android system driving a remote magic box with no mechanical/manual backup. Maybe I'm speaking too early and ARB has nailed it?

BTW, you can add a regulator and guage to any compressor with an auto-off pressure switch and get the same.

You all sound like 100 Series guys talking about the electronics of the 200 i.e. you get an ABS code and you can no longer shift in to low-range ;)

Look, if you can't bypass a relay to fire your lockers in the field in the event of failure... you shouldn't have lockers :D

Just an idea, but there's usually tons of room up front in the vehicle ahead of the radiator. This area stays plenty cool from engine heat. A bit dusty, but the engine bay is not without dust either.
 
But I want to know if will turn on the AC in the roof top tent while I'm glamping ?

Sure, it will turn on and off anything.




Looks guys, I don't need to try and convince any 200 Series owner to shy away from bloated electrical systems, that ship has sailed.
 
It's like saying I already have lung cancer, so why not inject some HIV into my system too to see which kills me first.

Maybe it will kill the cancer ;)


Would I hook a humans life support system to an sPod, Swithpro or LINX, of course not. But if y'all can't make it home with out your LED, Fridge or bypass a relay for a locker. Don't travel too far from home :D

Kind of. Except one is Toyota OEM and the other is a bolt on. If power windows were an aftermarket item then yes, I may choose to stay with the stock rollups. Toyota has a proven track record of reliable bits. ARB has a track record of solid products. No one (that I'm aware of anyway) has made anything Android that is without bugs.

I'm running mechanical switches to a Bussmann relay box. Can that fail? Absolutely. But, in general, the probably of a switch to a relay failing is very small compared to an Android display driving a control box that then drives a relay.

I have only a vague idea of what a relay is, and messing around with electronics in a car is something well beyond my ability. So I guess no lockers for me, then. :-P

To make a bad analogy, I can (and do) swap parts in my Glocks, but I pay a good gun plumber to fix my 1911s.

So the pressure regulator you posted is OEM and the LINX is "bolt-on"? I'm having a hard time following you. Both are super aftermarket, one let's you adjust air up pressure, airbags, etc from the controller, the other you have to manually adjust and bleed off...

And to your new argument. Let me be clear. your worried about a "bolt-on" item failing to turn on or off your "bolt-on" item... well...

Sure get lockers, have them properly installed and have said installer show you how to bypass any switch, relay or solenoid in a matter of minutes if your life depends on locker :D



Look, I've prepared and driven trucks around the world literally to some of the most remote places on the globe. Every non-OE modification comes with risk as do many OE components... learn what they are, how to solve and what to avoid. Having has our lives depending on our light bars (yes being sarcastic) using a sPOD and similar systems... I'm hardly worried.
