Can someone post a pic of what needs to be cut?

Thanks!

For the TLC or the LX?

For the LX its just cutting the two light tabs on the upper bar of the bumper.

For the LC its the little at the end of the frame. Im gonna guess that not many people are gonna be able to show you that pic considering most everyones bumper is already installed. Unless they can find the directions, i think there was a pic in them.

Very simple cutting either way. Just buy it and youll figure it out! ;)

I have a 01 LC. I am in the process of buying a use one. So I might not have the instruction. Anyhow, it sounds like a simple cutting job. I will take a pic when I finally get the bumper.
Thanks guys!

For LX, this shows tab cut off already... (grind smooth and paint too). Don't have pic of the tab on though.

For all LX/LC's, cut... (with cut-off air tool or hacksaw)

Hoser,
Thanks for the pics! That really helps. Now I know exactly what needs to be cut.

JDMG, how about some info on your headlights in a new thread... quality, fit, HID projectors?, manufacturer, source and cost?

Are you referring to the tips of the frame horns? You'd have to do that no matter what year (though I heard the very latest versions, or maybe it was for the 200 Series, did not require this anymore). Anyway, if you have a bumper that requires the cuts, you'd have to make them no matter what year truck you put it on.

IIRC the early 03 combo bar did not require the tabs to be cut off, it came with big heavy U tube spacers that slid in behind the plate that you cut off on the later ones. Not sure about pre O3 bars though. I don't think the bar I am referring to is still made, just a point for someone if they pick up a second hand bar.

Also some pics of your under body protection, make, model, price pls.

Soooooo can anybody post pictures of the grill area. I heard that the 03+ bar doesn't quite "fit" perfectly on the 98-02's. Something about the grill being different( which I'm aware of the change in grill design change). But what doesn't exactly fit right?

Pics? Is the space between fender/ bumper any difference with putting a 03+ bar on a 98-02 vs - 98-02 bar on a 98-02?

I'm pretty sure the only difference you'll notice is that the gaps between the body and bumper will be slightly larger if you put a 03+ ARB on a 98-02 LC/LX

Taken with phone cam. That's a quarter. And the first metal piece in the "gap" is not the body but rather reinforcement underneath. You need to look at the 2nd border, if that makes sense. Would've been easier to see if I had a non-black LX.

There is an extra <1cm of clearance/gap around the grill only. Hardly noticeable. The gap around the headlamps is the same as if it was installed on an '03. The LX has a little metal trim/support around the entire front. The bumper can rub here and there but it depends on how it was adjusted when installed.

So, I finally install the bumper last night. A few question come up. Since I got the bumper used. I don;t have the installation instruction. Can someone kind enough and forward me the instruction? Main question I have is the lower two bolts. Does it have a spacer that sits between the chassis and the ARB bracket? There seems to be about 3/4" to and 1" of open space. Or is it just my truck that has smaller chassis!? And one last question. The most forward bolt for the ARB bracket, is that suppose to be a Long bolt that go through the entire bracket and chassis (from top to bottom)?

Thanks!

Steve

Deluxe Bars

Pick your bumper, then go to fitting and warranty, you'll see pdf of install.

Schow,

Can you post pics of the areas your talking about.

There's a ton of bolts and brackets on this thing.

IIRC , there is no spacer between the frame and mounting bracket. If the bar has already been pinned( from PO) then you may have to adjust and re-pin. It toll me 6 hours putting it on, I tried to het I perfect. And I did. Even on both sides by the MM and as close as it can get. At full flex it sits 1mm away. And on large bumps ( potholes, speed bumps, stuff that causes it to shift real fast) it doesn't hit. Whew.

Arb calls for 15MM. I think I did 7 and I'm fine.

Post pics!
