Scott, were meeting at the Hwy 78 and Split Mtn rd. - 8:30 -9am
Are you planning on meeting us there or further up the trail? I have not run these trails and I don't want to miss the meet up.
Stan

Come now Stan your not even reading your own thread here, but I see you read my post at Adventure4x4. I am camping in Sandstone on Friday and will rendevous with you guys when you come through.

P.S. If anyone runs into the visitor center in AB you can get the regular map for $2.00 or the laminated for $6.00. Excellent maps of the park.

Talk to you soon.

Scott, Probably not a bad idea on the map. I have a very detailed on on Big Bear courtesey of the National Forest Service, but not the Anza area.

Extremely happy to hear the ins. stuff is proceeding well and even better that you all are ok!

IIRC I downloaded a detailed map of Anza from their web site.

There are also detailed descriptions of several Anza trails / routes in the Backcountry adventures book for SoCal. (Was on sale at Amazon a couple of days ago - great book.)

New ride for Sandstone!

Today I purchased a brand new (3 miles on the odometer) Voodoo Blue FJ Cruiser from Puente Hills Toyota. The following codes/options were included. FE CQ GY UP#1 and Z1. Final cash price was $24,837.00 plus tax $1929.13 ,license ($216.00), registration ($11.00) and CA tire fees ($8.75). I paid for $695.00 for gap insurance and $1395.00 for an 84month 100k extended warranty. Out the door was $29146.68.

It's been a week since the roll, I'll start bolting on the old equipment tomorrow.

Very cool Scott, happy to see you are back to wheeling so quickly after complete total. Question, did your insurance cover any of the aftermarket parts you installed? After such a bad roll I would expect your upper arms (if your lift had any), front shocks and bumper would be unusable. Also it looks like you new ride does not have a factory roof rack. Going a different direction this time on the rack?

Yeah i was wondering about the insurance part too. I always thought most insurance companies didn't insure rollerovers while 'off roading' or not on a public roadway. ?

Not true for most policies . Insurance does not cover any sanctioned ''offroad events". So for instance, Calico Clean Up could be mis-construed as an event. If you roll or whatever, tell insurance, " you were just out sight seeing and whoops, get my drift.

Insurance is only going to pay me market for the car and gap covers the rest. I have stripped all of the old mods, a huge pain in the ass.
I did not have aftermarket A-Arms but the roll was very slow, too slow and the frame and suspension look good. I drove 6 miles back to camp the next morning and the truck drove just fine.

I had my Donahoes rebuilt on Friday and one was totally shot, almost no oil and what was left was pushed into the nitrogen chamber. This was probably the reason I broke the 2 sway bar links.
Donahoe stands by there product and rebuilt them for free while I was there and gave me an extra set of coils so I could get them powder coated Voodoo Blue. No complaints, I new something was wrong and should have taken them in earlier.

I'm going with an ARB or Gobi rack. I want a Gobi but am not sure how hard it is to get a rooftop tent to sit level on the Gobi?

Hope to see some of your guys out at Anza with the shiny new rig. It needs some pinstripes badly. I went to the Valley Drive In in Oceanside last night to see Dezert Racing Promotions movie night. They played Andy McMillin's The Chronicles of Bebo and the premier of DP Cinco. I had a bone stock FJ and was sitting in the middle of 30 or 40 totally tricked out Desert Racers. Sorta like showing up at a Dead concert wearing a suit and tie. :o

Can't wait to get this thing dirty.

 I was at Oceanside for a DP4 screening. I can totally see the visual.

Very glad to hear you got a new baby, congrats.

That was fast Scott. Pinstriping here we come!!! We'll all be glad to be along!

Lots of turn out

There are 13 rigs set to go, several are camping in Sandstone Canyon of Friday night and joining us on Sat for runs. We are going split the group up, to cover more ground.

As of now still 5 for dinner Sat, Brent, Dave/Yoshi, Stan/Jeff.

The meet is still hwy78 and split mtn road. 8:30-9:00am

I have the Anza Map, which gives us a wide choice of trails, There is alot of Coyote creek beyond the camp, if we want to explore more of that area Sat. pm.

Bluetribal- you are still ? last minute?
From Mud I have:
Brent
Reid
Scott
Myself

How'd you get your map already? We ordered same time:( Not fair.

So what's the deal with splitting into 2 groups? Whats the planned routes?

Another attack of the FJCRUISERS?

There is no formal plan to split, the last time this many fjcruisers showed up it took tooooo long to run the trails, so playing it by ear. See PM.

How are you guys camping out in Sand Stone Canyon Friday night?
There's not really many places in that narrow canyon to park and camp? Unless you guys are going to camp at the entrance.

Oh and I would say I am out at this point.

Scott and Donna (FJCruisers) are camping fri pm. their plans are unknown to me, other than they are going to primative camp in the sandstone canyon area.

Mud Group?

Yeah maybe splitting into a mud group and a adv.4x4 group sounds good to me.

Oh yeah, it's supposed to be like 90 degrees out in Anza. Everyone bring plenty of WATER.

I'm glad you said "Mud Group", Makes me feel included ;) rather than lumped in to the FJ rabbits crowd.:whoops:
