It's out, I have another one set below the wheel
I'm thinking exhaust leak.
I had an O2 sensor that the nuts rusted off and the sensor would blow out of the hole during acceleration and fall back in when I let off.
I cleaned the studs, ought new nuts and a gasket, slobbered some copper anti-seize on the studs and reinstalled!

Could definitely be that, po420 code came up a few times, I cleared it and put a new catalytic converter on, it does smell dramatically better, but that could be it, it does smell like it's right behind the steering wheel
