ARCHIVE Anyone have images of the installed fuel filter still mounted under the intake manifold?

I never really had an issue when replacing mine (right tools gets the job done quick), but I really hope this project entails some sort of Schrader valve port so we can easily do fuel pressure tests and fill emergency gas cans if needed :)

That would be sweet

Holy crap!!!!! I hadn't even considered emergency fills and I've done that on my 60!!

Yeah, the Schrader valve on my Trans Am was a great source of fuel for my golf cart and lawn tractor lol

Just stuck the end of the release valve hose for my test gauge in a tank/bottle and pressed the button :)

The engine will still idle like normal as it bleeds off residual pressure :smokin:

Already got the fitting and is already part of the design. The Schraeder is part of the build but I hadn't looked into the type yet.

I am just stupid enough to do it!!! On my 60 we didn't have long enough hose, even vacuum hose, to draw fuel from. So I just unhooked from the fuel filter (electric fuel pump). Used it to fill a small soda bottle to then pour into another guys truck who ran out of gas. In the LX that's not a likely option.

Ok there is a slight possibility this project might be a little further along than I'm letting on ;)

Any chance of the new fittings causing lower fuel delivery similar to an old fuel filter?

I'm using all OEM fittings and everything is ported to match size. The AeroQuip stuff is for the added stuff such as pressure gauge. I still need to have the hoses made but I'll be copying OEM for specs.

I really like this idea Joey.....

I love the idea of the shrader valve and being able to pull gas from this port. For me it wold be great for my motorized beach cruisers. I usually have gas that sits forevor and it would be nice just to pull a fresh gallon every so often instead of storing more than I need. I could see it useful also for my generator, being able to just gas it up when camping directly from the port. Really cool! Is it possible you will add some sort of hose to do the above porting of gas?

the list goes on, motorcycles, chainsaws, etc.
