Going to be lifting the ol 80 sometime in the next few days and have everything except for the tool to press the caster bushings. I used to have one but gave it away years ago. Also could use the alignment template as well. If anyone has one I could borrow I’d be forever grateful.

HA - got one here...wish we would've known earlier this week that you needed it!

How are you going to do your caster correction?

from my experience If you use the aluminum tool to try to remove the factory bushings, you will most likely destroy the tool. I have had better luck using a large socket to press out the center and then cut the factory bushings out.

use the tool to press in the new bushings. i use an old ford hub socket to press in the bushings. it does a great job. ( i also have some notches cut in it that allows me to use it for the nut on a full float rear axle).

X2. When we used the aluminum press tool to press out @Green Hell Mustang 's bushings, the tools were pretty worn out at the end.

I had the same experience with a full set of aluminum press pucks I had made. I am waiting on a full set from Wits End.

Wit's End has a decent stuff period

Joey seems like a good guy as well. He is a one man show putting out some cool stuff. Kudos to him, a whole lot of R&D in what he does.

That is why you drill the rubber and cut the metal band and simply pull the old ones out and only use the tool to press the new ones in.

John if you can locate the tool I will grab it tomorrow from you.

I am hoping the steel press pucks will push them out without damage.

Sir, I'd appreciate if you did not mention my endo. Thank you.

The last ones I did, I removed via the Jason drill, cut, air chisel method. The new ones pressed in with a borrowed press tool and a rented ball joint press from Advance Auto. No 20 ton shop press needed. Easy peazy and drama free. It took me 30 minutes to do four.

They will. With a nice bang.

@southerncruiser62 and I lifted the first 80 I had. When I was pressing the first bushing out it was taking a lot of pressure. So much pressure I was looking away while I was pressing it out. All of a sudden I heard the loud bang so I turned around expecting to see the bushing laying on the ground. What I saw was the entire press collapsed and was sprawled out on the shop floor. I still laugh about that today and that happened almost 12 years ago.

Yep I remember when @jfz80 helped me press out the ones for my old 80 and those suckers let loose in drastic fashion. I was like - holy s***!!

We didn't break any presses tho - lol!
