Anyone able to help tonight with a Honda CEL?

My cousin is heading home to CA from a cross-country trip in his Civic. He's coming into ABQ right about now, possibly going to the Quail Rd Autozone to borrow a scanner.

...for your call and offer to help, very timely. I guess you ended up going over and taking a look at it.

He made it to the other Autozone 5 minutes before closing to buy the Intake Air Temp sensor. The guy there said he didn't think that was the problem and that there was probably a wiring issue, so he didn't sell him the sensor.

The consensus was that it would be all right to keep driving, so he got dinner and a nap before heading on.

I guess I'll have something to diagnose when he gets home.

Actually, I never saw the car. I talked with Tyson a few times and like you said the Autozone guy thought it was likely a short instead of a bad sensor. As cheap as the part was I would have replaced it, just cuz. Hope your cousin stayed awake for the drive to CA and made it home safe.

I think I can say this for the whole group ... our garages are always open to those needing help.
