I can lead a ride into the Puerco, on either Sat 2/8 or Sun. 2/9. Could meet at entrance road to our Cowboy camp spot. Meeting about 9:30 or so, and air down there. Looking to explore some areas that are off the main arroyo. There are miles of rugged dirt roads and arroyos that we usually drive by getting to the regular play areas. We should see what is out there. If I get some folks to join me, we can try to decide which date is best for this 4x4 ride. Easy to Moderate, with bypasses. Would only cancel if weather is too extreme to get safely out there that morning.
Bring food, water, recovery equipment. and HAM or CB radio, dress warm. Could finish up in late afternoon and go get some food and drink at some microbrewery if interest is there.

BOOM!!!! The Date is For Sat, 2/8.. Actually works better for me , too.
So, Glad you can make it. Should be fun seeing some places out there , off the beaten path.
Time to get into low range.

I want to go on this one as well, but I don’t know where the entrance to the Cowboy camp spot is.

I can arrange to meet up with you somewhere in Rio Rancho earlier and you can follow me out there. Also , there is an easier way into the Puerco , that we can use near there, so your Van can get in and out easily.
Anybody that wants to caravan out to the start point can meet me at the Walgreens at Unser and Northern at 9:00 am sharp. We will leave from there shortly after 9:00 am and meet others out at the edge of the Puerco. How does that sound?

Ok, I will make the 2/8 attempt; good bit of rig prepping, forsake a home project, Boon-dock or hotel it before and after, either Saturday or Sunday is good, meet you at Walgreens. While I don't know much about your neck of the woods, much less Puerco, or you folks, may be my time to pay dues and join HIGH DESERT CRUISERS.

Hope you can make this ride. We have decided on Saturday, Feb 8. Meet at the Walgreen's Unser and Northern 9 am. Be glad to show you around the area. I like wheeling the Gordy's Hill area , near Socorro, NM, also. That would be a shorter trip for you. Lots of choices in that BLM area ,too.

We’ll hop on this ride as well. I’m looking forward to getting out, and getting dirty.

Great. We are gathering up a flock of 4x4's to explore the Puerco.

I count 6 going , so far, for this ride. Still more than a week away.
