Hi All,

Has anyone successfully disabled the parking sensor system?

My rear sensors are gone, sensors, harness, everything. No errors.

I was offroad, went through a muddy hole, and got a warning message that I couldn't get rid of.

I tried unplugging the harness, but the error message persisted on the dash cluster.

While the error was displayed, I could temporarily get out of the error, but I couldn't stay on any of the other screens, it would revert to the error after a few seconds.

I finally figured out it was just caused by mud on the bumper mounted sensors.

I'd like to remove and plug the holes, but I need to disable it from giving that warning.

Is there anything that I can do in Techstream to permanently disable them?

my 08 has a button next to the Headlight Washer/12V switch - I keep it off since I installed the Dissent rear bumper and no warnings on the dash.

was curious and just went and turned it on - constantly beeps, sensors are flashing on dash and I have an "!" warning light

Thanks guys. That does it. Much appreciated.

Yes, this solved the problem quickly and easily. I blocked the sensor with painters tape to simulate the mud covered condition and it triggered the error. I pushed the switch and it all went away.

I would still like to code them out, remove the sensors and plug the holes though, so if there is a way to disable them in software, I'd still love to learn more.

There are so many "features" that I don't use and wish weren't installed, this is one of them. I can park a car. :)

Definitely able yo switch them off. Look in manual, but on my 08, its a dedicated switch left of steering wheel.

I turned mine off within a couple days of ownership bc they drove me crazy. If I eed another button soot? I’ll probably permanently remove my parking sensor switch…

I have an 08 and sensors in my front bumper but my rear ARB bumper doesn’t have holes for them. Trying to find a way to disable just the rear so the fronts still work with the on/off sensor button is engaged. If I can’t might end up having my shop add sensor holes to my rear. (Wife likes parking sensors when she drives my car and I also don’t mind them when I’m driving in town)

if anyone knows of a way to do this I’m all ears.

You can’t - either none or all. Drilling the holes is super easy.
