TUCSON, AZ (May 25, 2011) – Coronado National Forest officials are expecting large numbers of visitors to the Coronado National Forest’s most popular campgrounds and picnic areas over Memorial Day weekend. The following are tips to help make weekend outings enjoyable and safe. Due to wildfire activity some recreational areas on the Forest are temporarily closed. Information on which sites are open or closed can be obtained on weekdays by calling the ranger district offices listed at the end of this release.
Campfires, Smoking and Fireworks. Due to increased fire danger, the Coronado National Forest has implemented fire restrictions at all locations on the Forest. Restrictions will remain in place until July 18 or until they are rescinded due to decreased fire danger. The restrictions are necessary to protect public health, safety and National Forest System lands, resources and facilities.
Current prohibitions on all ranger districts of the Coronado National Forest are:
1. Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire, charcoal, coal, or wood stove fire, including within a developed recreation site or improved site. Exception: The use of petroleum-fueled stoves, lanterns, or heating devices is allowed so long as such devices meet the fire underwriter’s specifications for safety.
2. Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter, that is barren or cleared of all flammable material.
3. Using an explosive.
4. Operating an internal combustion engine. Exception: Motor vehicles.
5. Welding or operating acetylene or other torch with open flame.
6. Possessing or using a motor vehicle off National Forest System roads. Exceptions: Parking in an area devoid of vegetation within 10 feet of the roadway, or parking in Forest Service developed campgrounds and trailheads.
7. Discharging a firearm, except while engaged in a lawful hunt pursuant to state, federal, or tribal laws and regulations.
Prohibitions are temporary and will be lifted when fire restrictions expire. Violation of the prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations, imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.
ALL Fireworks are ALWAYS prohibited on ALL National Forest lands.

I drove my rig back and forth to work last week. Finally burned out that old gas. This time I put Sta-bil in the tank.

Have also heard that putting "Seafoam" in the tank will stabilize the gas, perhaps even a bit better than stabil - since it will also try to devarnish your carb......oh, nevermind you FI guys aren't as concerned about *that*.

Just heard on the radio that they're closing the Coronado Nat'l forest as of Thursday at noon. Not going to re-open until we get significant rainfall. They said the road to Summerhaven will be open with some restrictions. Can someone do a rain-dance that works, please?
Maybe reschedule for Mid August (After the 15th) if the forest re-opens?
