I have some weatherstripping off my 83 BJ42 LX that is no longer made for slide sliding windows and needs to be replaced, any one know of any companies that can make weatherstripping if they have an original piece?

Thanks
R

is the weather stripping not the same as a standard 40 window.

I actually need to have some weather stripping extruded for some factory soft doors.

Johnnyc was good enough to loan me a piece of the original stripping.
He even gave me a name of a company that might be able to fab it.
Let me track it down, or ask Johnny, and post back here.

I need to have a bulk amount made too for everyone else that might need it :D

No I beleive it is diff but what I am really in need of is the inside track/ felt weatherstripping for the sliding windows. My outside rubber W/S is diff as well for it has holes at bottom for water to drain out from water that gets inside the window track.

Is that the aftermarket slider that SOR sells?

What piece(s) exactly are you talking about?

what I need is the inside tracking/ felt rubber on the inside track of my side hardtop sliding windows which is specific to LX models from AUS only

not sure of any after market companies, but I could help you out with exact OEM part numbers then you'd just have to find a non-USA vender/ parts guy:hmm:

Thanks Johnny, I emailed japan4x4 from here on site with those numbers that I pulled from Toyodiy but all came back discontinued/ no longer available. I did not know if there are companies that can take a piece of my old stuff and duplicate without charging an arm and leg? My outside weatherstripping around the side sliding window is perfect its just the inside track rubber/ felt that is toast?

roberto, how did this story ended,

in my bj44V i have the exact same sliding window as the BJ42, also toasted felt window running weatherstripping, did you find a good solution? i know this is a topic more people would be interested in...

thanks in advance, folkert

Australia might be a place where they still might sit on some shelve.. japan is a no go... emailed already a few japanese companies specialized in Toyota JDM parts, and all said, no longer available....

maybe we should set up a "group" buy so we can let it fabricate for a reasonable price... guess enough BJ42, 44 and 46 owners would love to get those...

i have a really fresh example here off one side, seems to be replaced just a few years ago with an OEM one... so thats a good, non dried-out example for duplication...

if more than 10 (?) people show interest, i will go after it...

might be a good idea that someone with a BJ42 can measure its window, to be sure its the same..

most important is the inside measurements of the metal frame where the rubber has to fit into, since the mold will be as long as you like, so overall dimensions is not that important..

Hey Guys I am not sure if this is relevant to your thread but a buddy of mine has a 55 and he needed a window seal for the rear cargo window. He found a ford seal with a similar profile and made his own that fit his window. Here is the link for his thread:

It might save you some money if you could go to a glass shop and find some weatherstripping with the same profile and do what he did. Just an idea.

problem is, the dimensions are the bottleneck, ive seen this mold , but a bit larger... it has to be a perfect fit into the metal frame, not like a Standard H mold that only has to fit around the panel and the glass..

see pic for the weatherstripping we are looking for...

40's parts are unobtainable from Toyota Australia. I believe when they introduced that policy a few years back they trashed whatever stock they had and wrote their "losses" off on tax.
