Did a vehicle inspection on a 1964/40 series for a new prospective customer and was very surprised to discover that it still had the original tie rods and ends! SIXTY YEARS OLD!
The earlier tie rods are easy to distinguish because the main steering tube tapers down at both ends to accept ball joints that are the same size as the relay rod.
