Im dying here !!!! Why oh Why did I tell my wife no more Cruisers for 6 months, My yard looks empty and this is worse than quitting smoking. Dan I just might have to drive up soon just so I can get my hands dirty and get a Cruiser Fix

Doesn't look like a 68 to me. Probably a 64 or 65. 68 would of had a padded dash plus heater was standard in this country after 65 (no vent in the cowl). That windshield with the vent in the bottom ended sometime during 65. I would check the frame. A 64 should have a 4 at the beginning of the VIN. The 65s I've seen didn't start with a 5. That might tell you what year is is. Does it have the brass tag screwed to the VIN? Does it have the soft top bows? I seen the eyelet on the dash but no bows.

You have never seen a factory soft top, drop by the house and I can show you a few. While your at it you might as well bring the 55 along:rolleyes:

There is no brass plate.

Dan,

Your fab skills are getting better everyday :grinpimp:

Are you going to part it out? If so, there are some "bits" I would be interested in. Sorry, I didn't get to stop by today, we were running late and wanted to get home and get everything put away before dark.

Rob,

If you want to work on cruisers and get your hands dirty, there are plenty of projects in my garage. :)

I need more pics of the steering hack... I can't wrap my brain around how that thing works. For once I am completely at a loss for a wisecrack to describe what the PO did to this thing.

Do you mean where they cut the frame from the donor truck with the steering box still atached and then welded the section of the donor frame and steering box to the FJ40 frame?

what is with the loop of tubing attached to the upper ubolt plates? is that just a mounting point for the steering stabilizer? why?
