Hi together,
maybe someone can help me.
Since I lost my second keyfob the winter before last winter (jepp the car gives a f*** if the key isn’t in the car if you didn’t turned it off sometimes) I decided now to get again a second one just to be safe.
So I did some research, contacted some Toyo dealers in Saudiarabia und got from a colleague the exact same model (he gets some bucks off at his local dealer so the fob was only 160€)
Met him today and directly tried to pair the key with my 200 since the last time with the one from China it didn’t worked (but was worth a try)
The new key got recognized by the Startbutton with a beep and then always the process failes with the step „place your key text text text on the passenger seat“, the 30s running down and I get a fail message.
The key is definitely virgin and oem (at least I hope so) so there must be any special trick with the paring I don’t know.
Maybe someone can help me out.
It is a 2008, GX Diesel for the African/ Arabian market.

ps.: yes the battery was empty when the key arrived and I put a fresh one in

At least in the US we use techstream to pair keys, unsure if this is necessary in other markets but I’d be surprised if it wasn’t an option.

In US models, There is a code on the other side of the circuit board. I believe that has to match for the key to work. Did you verify that? I don’t know if some codes are compatible with others, but I know when I bought a refurb off eBay, I accidentally ordered the wrong code. Leakily the seller also had one that was the right code and I 2as able to exchange it. The second key worked fine. All other numbers on the key were identical except the 4 digit code on the circuit board.
