magnaflow would sound kinda nice as well would have a nice tone but still be subtle...

Yes - I have magnaflow on my fj40 and FZJ80.....and my last FJ62. It's a good choice, but still has a little rumble too it. I love the tone, but not so sure Michelle will. I'll report back when I talk to Mark later this am.

OK Mark just called and the muffler is done the new exhaust is 2" into a single dual cat into 2 1/4 pipe into a stainless steel muffler out the back at 2 3/4 pipe. Can't wait to see it and hear it. Should flow really nice and quiet.

WOW - Can't wait!, I still can't believe he did all that work for in exchange for a six pack of beer.:beer::D

I'll call you in the am.

So - how did Mark's muffler job come out?

Poser shot of the engine that Randy sent me tonight!

Get you some pic's tonight of the whole thing. Sounds really good. Slight tone but really quite. Perfect for Michelle and she will be able to hear herself think. That doesn't seem right...Should have 2 more cylinders in there:grinpimp:

Well the weather is horrible but the truck is on it's way down to Austin!!:bounce: There was a little bit of touch up to do before it left but all systems are a go!!!! Well except the one o2 sensor...

Randy,
Thanks to Cruisinfj60, Michelle's truck has made it to Austin. All I can say is WOW.

What the hell did you do to that 3FE? It's a rocket! I've driven a lot of 3FE trucks, and this one has tons of power. Just to recap, the injector were rebuilt, port and polished the exhaust manafold, and did the custom 2.5 inch exhaust, with the Tundra muffler. It all made a big difference. The timing seems to be a little fast, and we still need to replace the broken o2 sensor...and a few other minor things...but Iam really impressed on how this 3Fe is running.

Iam also running 31x10 tires and don't have a lift, so that helps a little, but Iam still shaking my head on the amount of power this truck has. I'll post some pictures of the custom exhaust in the am. Crap I might just throw a 5 speed in there and the truck will be perfect, not need for a silly votec!

GREAT JOB!! Worth the case of beer I traded you for the labor.:beer::beer

ANYTIME!! I always enjoy a good beer and shop talk...If you need a hand or get bored give me a call. OH I owe you a cleaning on the carpet. Will a case cover it when you bring up the 40??:D Then you can have 2 rockets..:bounce: OH there will be a time when you convert to the dark side!!

thanks again mark for the parting gifts:beer::cheers: and the info for Cassie.

We got back to Randy's house bout 2:30ish this a.m. to get my car it rained all the way back up and at one point in time you couldnt even see the road but we made it with no problems rabbit, dog and all.

hope the truck stays problem free for you and Michelle it really did drive great all the way down for me rollin 65-75 pretty much the whole way quite easy.

oh yea mark did you put gas back in it yet and see what the miledge was with only the 1 sensor hooked up? Guessing from the miles on the trip ODO and the tank at half full i figured round 14MPG after hitting some very heavy trafic then rolling an average around 70ish the rest of the way down..

just kinda currious what it really ended up being.

I'll be filling up the tank today, so I'll let you know. I repaired the o2 sensor, but damn...I can't reach the plug that is on top of the tranny! I'll tackle that later today. so it's still unplugged. And I have not put the new spark plugs in yet.

Michelle wanted to drive the truck last night to the x-mas party - it drives like a dream. Plenty of power and quiet. If you don't need the macho rumble of a magnaflow or flowmaster muffler, this set up is great. I plan to put it up on a lift and take some pictures this week.

Randy - Can we find out the model number of the muffler so other folks can order one?

Maybe Lee (Sea Knight) can chime in - he is a 3FE expert and took it for a test dive yesterday.

He's too busy being a chat whore now.

Mark, what plug on top of the transmission are you talking about? You can get to the top of the transmission by un-bolting the cross member and lowering it down a bit.

Glad it's driving good. Any chance you could talk Michele into driving it to the roundup? I'd love to see what a fresh 3fe drives like.

Yeah - I'll bring it to round up! ;) Iam going to try and have my FJ40 finished...but I don't know if that is going to happen. We might just bring up two trucks any way.

I know the muffler is off of a new Toyota Tundra. I will get with Mark for the PN# on the Cat and muffler. Glad Michelle liked the drive. That O2 plug is a little rough to get to but if you got skinny hands you should be able to reach:lol: So what was Lee's response?
