Ok here we go for cargo panel build #2...

So, to start you need materials of choice and these things... Plenty of  as usual....

Then trace and cut panels. I use 1/4" MDF.. cheap and rigid.

Lay it down on padding material ( I use headliner )

Good work J. Don't rock too hard in there :)

Looks awesome dude. So you only used a couple screws per side? Is that enough to hold it down securely or did you add more after the photo.

Yeah I'd imagine anything is stronger than that retarded cardboard crap. If I turn right too fast my passenger side panel comes undone

Gotta quit racing the 60... :grinpimp:

I use 5 screws only... 2-top, 2-bottom and 1-front. The 1/4" MDF is rigid and stays true. This is the same way I had the old panels with the 10s. No issues at all with rattle, warping of panel, or squeaks.

J has there been anyone who has attempted to replicate the factory slots in the panels and use new factory plastic push in anchors that you know of? That would be pretty stealth.

Danny, yes just take 3/32 or 1/8 hardboard and mark the old panel out on it along with fastener holes. Use a 1/2 and 1/4" bit to drill the holes to make a tight figure 8 hole/design. Put fastener into 1/2" hole and slide it to the 1/4" side.
Voila there ya go. I did this on 2 of my door panels. Works great.

Greg, run to Hancock fabrics or JoAnn's and get 1 yard of headliner material. It is about 1/8" thick and runs about 14.99 a yd.

A yd should measure 36" x 54" for that material.

J

Jason, will that headliner material absorb water?
Trying to think of moisture resistance for my new door panels.
