Awesome! Glad to hear good numbers. I debate getting my original carb rebuilt. My Weber works fine though. Maybe if I ever get really nuts I'll do it. Plenty of other things my 60 could use.

I was glad to see the increased numbers. I had my foot in her all day. Shifted around 3k.. I'll be a little better tomorrow and see what I get.

Oh yeah Kline... I bumped a deer this morning at about 50mph and the bumper is still good. I'm trying to round up materials for Hamp and Marley. No promises, but I may have something by Jamboree :hhmm:

Have you decided on coming up?

J

That right there is, to me, the ideal 60. And you built it in what, three weeks?
You're killing me here J, lookin perfect!

J- I'm hoping I can make it. Only one of my classes has a "final." And I say "final" because it is just another project that if it is like previous projects, has no set date. I emailed the prof just to make sure. As soon as I hear back I could definitely pre-register and save $15.

Did it kill the deer? Or will I need to put spikes on it? Of course here in Houston I only need to worry about hybrids :hillbilly:

Those are damn good numbers J...
I think the snork is adversely affecting your mpg's.

Ok, I'll take it :D

So J I got a question for you. How did you line up the holes for where the nutcerts went? Finally got some time and just cut my panels now I got to order the speakers and wire so I can get this done.

Sorry yeah, but my question was more in relation on how you lined the panel up and found out where the wholes were that you used the speed nuts. Did you place the head in some to the speed nut and mark the tip with paint and then place the panel against it or what?

Just ordered the rear 6x9s, found out that I could use point from my CITI Thank you card and I had enough point to cover the payment and shipping!! So no money out of pocket for the rears!!! STOKED!!!

Ok, so the OEM panel has a figure 8 hole for the fasteners.. right. Take the center of the smaller hole and that will be your transfer point to the new panel for your holes and should line up almost perfect. Drill the new holes so you have a little extra play in them as well and with the slop in the speed nut it should be good to go.

You go with the 3 or 4 way 6 x 9s?

J

Ah ok that makes sense... so you basically just traced the old hole on the new panel and then drilled accordingly, that makes sense.

I went with the RF Punch 4 way (only have a 2way or 4way in the 6x9). Should be here by the end of the week with some speaker wire (order 100ft of sheathed so I can redo the fronts when I eventually get an amp). Luckily I have Friday off this week so looks like I may be doing this plus building my locking mechanism for my bike fork mount.

Yeah, Punch R1694 here, they were on sale on top of it so only ended up being like $10 more than the Prime's.

Spent a little time on Marley this morning. Finally..got the aux. fuse panel bracket fabricated and mounted. Hope to have it wired by tomorrow night.

Sweet, how did you make the ninety degree bend? Vise? Hammer and a pillow?
I knew it, doing a little pillow talkin with Marley. :D

Reevesci

I am amazed and envy your work. Kline and I are friends in Houston and he show me your thread. I love the work its amazing. Ill be heading up to the jamboree with my 60 with Kline. Hope to see you there and love to wheel with you!!!

Thanks... Marley looks good from 10' away.. ha.

I will be at jambo about 9 am Friday morning. Kline and I are planning on a few runs together. The more the merrier. Should be fun. We are only 45 miles from Gilmer. I hope the weather holds. Looks like rain tomorrow night and possible Friday as well.

See ya soon.

J

Getting ready for Jamboree... Hope everything goes smooth. Starting to get a puff of smoke at start up and then quits. However, I added about 16oz of water to the radiator over the last 3 days. I'm also about 7% off on one cylinder compared to the other 5 on compression. (Head rebuild and gasket in the very near future...)

But, should be a great time, hope to meet some new addicts and just relax a bit.

J
