Man that truck looks GOOD!! Glad ya like the stickers, enjoy..

Thanks Pete, I plan on a small white one on each sliding window. Large white one on back glass and medium black ones either by the rear LANDCRUISER emblem or below front fender vent (forward just a hair, in the roll of the panel where it's wider).

It'll look good.

I am allready having withdrawls now that you are finished! Watch out the wife may just decide to keep marley as her play thing!

Not quite finished yet Snowman. Got a little more to do. Yesterday I was thinking I was almost done and started thinking of other "Marley" projects... Drawers, trailer, tailgate panel. Wish it were more though.

Nice pictures J.

I wonder how much it weighs? I'd bet it is at least 1000 pounds more than mine. haha

beeeee-yootiful, man!

Thanks dead... I wish I had more to go to be honest.

You should be really proud! That's great work and beautiful LC!!!

Thanks for the compliment.

Kline, I'll have to add it up with a 2% filler metal add on for the welds... But, I was keeping track of the raw metal weight..

Front bumper with winch plate 113#s
Winch 83#s ( need SYNTHETIC LINE ) Future purchase for sure.
Sliders 62#s for the pair
Rear bumper with ladder and spare swing out 146#s
Roof rack with mounts 64#s

Total weight with filler add in...477.36#s for total custom fab and armor.

So, call it 500#'s to be a fair number..

Yes, I'm a freak when it comes to certain things... BUT :grinpimp:!

I didn't get much accomplished at all this weekend on Marley.

Today I got one rear panel covered... well I helped my bride..and finalized all the holes on the drivers side cargo panel.

My goal is to get a panel per night done this week. Then I will start on the console, tint and wiring all the goodies...:grinpimp:

So how are you covering the panels? I am assuming that I will have to do the same thing with mine once I get it but I want to do something that will probably involve marina vinyl as my dogs will be in the back of the vehicle when we go to the park and go camping. Any chance you could take some detailed shots of how your wife is covering these?! Going to have to let us know how it sounds too with the 10"s in there and what size amp you will be running to them. I was thinking of going with shallow 8"s as the 10"s might put out a little to much and rattle the side area. Also, did you do any tuning for the area on the side with those 10s or just hoping the bass sounds good?

G, I am using regular weight vinyl from a local fabric store. Panel base is 1/4" MDF, 1/8" headliner foam/fabric, and then adhesive spray. I used #10 U-Speednuts and #10 x 3/4" screws to hold panels in place. Post #86 shows the materials I'm using to cover the panels and post #99 is the amp I'll be using.

No movement at all on the first panel. The MDF is pretty rigid.

So, as far as the 10" sub... this particular model is .7 cu ft air for sealed and 1.4 cu ft air for ported box. I'll apply my FatMat sound deadener and then see what it sounds like. If need be i'll port/cut a 1 1/2" to 2" hole in the lower back portion of the panel. I think it will be fine. I had an 8" shallow sub mounted like this before and it had a little too much air space for sealed.. So, I'm hoping these will be a perfect combo. But may have to seal off a section with foam sealer and play a little as well. I'll let you know on this as I'm super ANAL on my sound. Amp will be an old school Rockford Fosgate Punch 45... Or as some call them a CHEATER AMP.. They are the S**T IMO. Been running them since 1986.

You wouldn't happen to know the shelf life of a can that was open would you?

Sorry, I missed this post... Once mixed the product you have a pot life of 6 to 10 hrs. This depends on your temperature and humidity.

Or you can mix at a 7/1 ratio if I remember correctly but, if you wait too long between coats you will need to scuff the liner before applying another coat. I did mine from start to finish in 6 hours. That's taping off to the final tape removal.

Here's the installation page link:

Thank you reevesci; I was hoping to just do wheels first but I'm guessing I should wait until I get all my armor built then do it all at once.

Got the other rear panel done. Need to repaint the washer fluid door doo-hickie. The 12V Blue Sea System plugs are nice, I highly recommend anything they make . So, tomorrow I'll start on one of the four doors. Gonna have to play with the speaker mount on all of them to get it where I like them and I don't have a problem with the windows.

Enjoy

Nice! Is the material backed with padding, or is the padding separate? If separate, is there a specific name for it? After I am done building my center console, I am doing the rear cargo panels and will need to cover em.
In the close up pic of the plugs, the screws almost look like tiny LED's! I had to look real close at em lol!

Danny, It's separate. The backing is actual headliner material. It's about 3/32"- 1/8" thick. It said headliner on the spool at the fabric store. It was the thinnest yet, most dense material for that thickness the store had.

I think we paid like 35.00 for that and like 6 yds of the gray vinyl. If you go into a fabric store ask where there return or remnants table is. This vinyl was around 19 a yd new but, since it was returned I paid almost nothing for it.

Thanks J! Nice nice avatar change, now pull my finger... ;p
