I got some more stuff from Beno, finally installed the little bumper on my tire carrier latch and put the repro bumper from @overton. I also mounted a new little spring on the carrier handle, looks like that should be factory right?

I also took off the tube bumper and will be putting on new OEM bumperretes I also got from Beno, that masses made the decision.

-Although I really liked the tube bumper better, oh well, what the hell as my dad always says ;)

The OEM carrier lock spring is still available from Toyota, part number 90506-12480. Similar shape, but has a dull black finish, like black oxide.

There is also a rubber edge protector on the carrier lock, NLA from Toyota. A similar piece is in a McMaster 8-piece assortment 8510K95, the
1/4" w x 5/16" h, outside measurements. Cut to fit, secure with contact cement on the inside edge.

Nice, thanks! I need to order some plugs for the floor from McMaster anyways and I'll get that assortment.

Also I'm a little surprised noone busted my chops about this, but I never installed the rear reflectors. I felt that they should be installed too if I was going with bumperrets, so I ordered them from Beno also.

Here is the part number for the earlier style rear reflectors with the correct silver ring for my year and I think 78...
@beno , this is the last of it, I swear this time;) Really thanks for all your help buddy!

Are those standard bolts on the bumper?

@Racer65 sent me one his first reproduction air cleaner intake hoses for my resto. I could not be happier, I had a very nice hose that is being offered by a mud member but really wanted the OEM hose with the correct shoulders on the hose. The hose arrived promptly this week (on my birthday, nice) and I just put it on. Looks perfect and is extremely rugged in construction. Perfect reproduction of the OEM hose that is no longer offered. Big thanks to Racer65. Pics....

Man do I love looking at your pictures! If you get time, would you give me a measurement of the metal air cleaner intake? Mainly just the rectangular end. I'm having a tough time locating one, so I'm going to see about getting one fabricated. Thanks, Brian

I sent you a PM bmbackstrom,

Bumperrets on... I consider myself a bit of a purist but I really think the tube bumper looked better.

Anyone have any tricks in installing new window felts? The upper ones that run the perimeter of the window when it is up?

All I have left is install the window felts and snap on the new door panels and this is done. Hopefully my paint guy and take it for some little touch ups next week and it's time for the "auction block".

i had no problems getting them on, they just sorta snap in. i kinda had to bend them up to get them in the door shell, but once there they fit in the window run channel pretty good.
and fyi was just cruising through cruiser corps stuff looking for stuff to get from beno...
and found this: http://www.cruisercorps.com/spare-tire-carrier-spring.html
i'm assuming they're nla from beno otherwise you would already have one?
i disagree with the rear bumper. the bumperettes are the bee's knees. also pretty sure there were rubber blocks for in the holes of them.

I forgot to order the spring from Beno but found this stainless one at Lowes, kinda matches all the stainless hardware I have for the outside. Thanks for the advice on the felts, I'll throw them in when I get it back from the painter.

Beautiful job, why not list it here and Craigslist first. I got a good response on Craigslist , serious buyers scan the country for nice 40's and you pay no fees.

I may just do that, thanks 447xpro, notice the jumps seats? I got those from you.

Anyone have a link for plugs I need for my floor pans?

You should also wait until April or May this is a bad time of year to sell. Nice to see my parts helping other projects. If I sold my 82 I would do your reserve $30k but I think you will get more. GLWS

Went to look at my truck at the painters yesterday, he fixed a couple of chips I put in it during assemble and fixed the seams I was never happy with. The paint turned out so nice I asked him to keep it and fill a hole I forgot about that housed the old aftermarket antenna it had on it since I got the radio delete plate and don't think an OEM style antenna would seem right now. But hey I'll throw in a new antenna into the sale that I bought in case the next owner want to add tunes;) Will be all done this coming weekend and I just have to install the door panels and she will be all done!
