First one is the Rubicon Trail, did that in 2008

2nd on is the Dirty Devil River crossing over from the Maze in Utah. The river was running a bit higher than normal for that time of year. One of our group explored the river a bit too much and was stuck. Fried all his electronics and I was floored when his insurance company totaled the 4runner and gave him a check. Course I had to tow him from there all the way to Green River.

He did not have a snorkel

I have used it on a few other trails.river crossings, but those were my favorite trips

What additional maintenance is required after significant water crossings on a 200? I know the 100 required a more frequent (or immediate?) bearing repack if I remember correctly.

I was thinking the same thing after I saw how far the water line was. My mind went immediately to the electrical systems, e.g. fuse box, battery, connectors, relays, etc.

I added breather extensions to the diffs and tcase to the top of the engine bay, If you don't have that you should change your fluids. I am doing the same thing with my 200.

as long as you keep moving and you are not in the water too long you don't have to worry about the electronics. Thats what happened to the 4 runner, he got stuck and sat there for minutes giving time for water to seep in.
