And some more electric fan questions.

If you want the best there is you need to be looking at the Lincoln Mark VIII fans. The early models put out ~4500 cfm and the later ones put out ~5000 cfm if I remember correctly. They are cheap and plentiful (last time I looked).

They do pull a lot of amps, somewhere in the 40-50 range continuously I think it was. No personal experience but I've read plenty of threads on here where people couldn't get electric fans to keep their trucks cool. None of them were using Mark VIII fans if I remember right. If you want to ensure you have enough cooling from an electric fan you're probably going to end up with ones that pull a lot of amps.

Do you happen to know the stock fans cfm? This fan isn't going to be constantly on just when I want it... the cooling system on these things is a joke for where I live. In 115 degree heat and in the sand it just doesn't cut it. Then again neither does the engine... I just need something to keep it under 210

CFM's based on what? a properly shrouded fan or one without a shroud?

Many people down there in AZ/Mexico/California have no issues with the belt driven fan.

Is your shroud properly attached and not cracked? Is your fan clutch wore out? And probably most important, have you tested for a head gasket leak?

I have a blue hub with 20k, new water pump, new oem tstat, and the shroud is perfect. every thing is good accept that it gets hot. when im on the freeway the temps stay about 197/8. when im going slower its over 200. when im in the sand (think starwars sand dunes) its around 210+
if I can ever find a real koyo c1917 ill be putting it in...
when I get home ill drain some coolant and plug in my hg test kit and see. im sure its good tho... we shall see...

Sounds more like a clogged/old radiator causing the problem. I have had really good results running a Koyo 1918A. Recently we have used several of the TYC 1918a from Rock Auto with great results. Fits ANC cools good enough to wheel here in the summer. Can't get much better than that. And the price was amazing!!

just bought a koyorad a1918 on ebay for 177$ shipped. hopefully it is a good/real/not crap one.

I flushed it about 6 months ago but who knows. It might be a little plugged. The po poured green on top of red...

Mine tends to stay pretty cool, but my blue hub runs 60K and I'm running a new Chinese radiator. When you're in sand, the truck is going to run really hot; maybe save that crap for the cooler months?

Mine is the "crap" one from TYC, runs great and at the $110 from RockAuto makes it pretty much disposable.

I flushed mine about six months before I needed a new rad, too. Looking down the lid opening on mine and the thing looked nice and clean--look down at an angle towards the other cores and it had a bunch of s*** in it. Likely a cold spot, my clutch was not coming on as often as it should and it just wasn't cooling as a result.

I have electric fan setup on my 60 series " trail " rig .. and even tho I have my reasons to do that on the 60 and like what I did, I can tell the mechanical Mr. T setup design it's pretty bullet proof ..

If your concern it's temp, I would try to go around all other " items " as rad, fan clutch, aux fan, heavier oil on the fan clutch, cooland flush etc .. before move to an electric setup.

You can see what I have done above. The only thing left is the radiator... and electric fan.

to your original question, it seems like 2000cfm is about the right number for the JDM fan. many fans on amazon for $35 and up. there are tons of threads, even in the last week. search JDM or aux fan or condenser. i was just about to go down the JDM fan road and am gonna replace with modded blue to 20k, radiator, and water pump to get my AC temps colder.

there is no "stock" electric fan technically. the JDM fan i would assume is 2000cfm based on other threads.

Don't know if anyone has an accurate # for the stock mechanical fan but I guarantee it is several time greater than ANY electric pusher fan that you can fit on your rig. Many of us that have added a pusher have found them to be of a small help when the engine is around 2000 rpm or less and/or the ground speed is really slow. At cruising speed they are overwhelmed by the mechanical fan.
