I thought I put up a pic my drawer storage all finished, but I guess I didn't.

Looking good man!

Thanks Clint. You'll have to see it in person. :D

snow, thanks. I've bitten by the Cruiser bug. I'm tinkering now. I love it.
I like the Cruiser lean quite nicely.

Gives her character!
Is the sub enclosure ported? Or more of a sealed design? I know that rear facing subs are the way to go, with the sound bouncing off the tailgate and whatnot (I think...). How does it sound?

TCD, I agree with you, she does have character. The lean isn't so bad either. :D
GRAYSKULL, on the other hand, is a character. Kind of a gentle beast of sorts. The 8" sub is enclosed and sounds great. Much better than I thought. I've had lots of subs in my rigs before and I wanted clean bass. This came out quite well. Yes, rear facing is the way to go.

Elbert, here are some detailed pics of the fan shroud. Taken with iPhone at lunch.

Hey Man - 1st of - Great setup... and super clean install! I have a 62 with a 5.3 / 4L60E as well.... LUV that truck. I do have a question for ya that might save me alot of research... Is that and K&N Filter setup? I have one as well, and it fits great now - but I'm runnin Flexlite fans.... Well I was... till they both destructed in the same day! AND to make matters worse the blades broke and jammed a hole in my radiator while on the trail!

Anyway... no more electric plastic fans for me! I'm preparing to add a mechanical one, and saw your shroud and that's pretty much exactly were I'm headed. The only issue is that my K&N is likely going to get in the way. Your air filter system seems to have the perfect indent right where the fan is. Can you tell what that part number is?

Also, I'm guessing you built that shroud, right?

Great stuff! And thanks for any input you might have!

dudenhoffer, thanks for the compliment. I love my truck as well. Learning more and more daily. Sorry to hear about your trail woes. That sux. As far as the filter goes, it's an Airaid setup that came with the rig when I got it. I don't have a part #. The shroud was also custom built. Wish I could've been more help to ya. Good luck.

It's been a bit, but I've added airline track cargo tie down rails. I got the parts from McMasters, but they can be had cheaper at US Cargo Control. I also installed a couple anchors on top of the wheel wells. The supplied screws for the anchors were way to long. I went to Ace Hardware and got a size that worked best for the situation. Here are a couple of pics of the install.

Awesome. That's a good idea. Do you feel they're strong. They definetly look beefier than some of the ones I've seen locally. Sweet

elephants, I wish I could take credit for the idea, but I agree with you on it being a good one. I saw it on Kevin Rowland's FJ60 and thought it was very practical, so... They feel very strong/sturdy. The install was very easy and straight forward. The only tough part was taking out the drawer setup by myself. There are two places that I know of to get the rails. McMasters or US Cargo Control (least expensive of the two and they have them in black.). Nice rig, BTW! I want that roof rack and light setup.

Hey, your inbox is full, I can't reply to your message.

So, I added a couple accessories to GRAYSKULL. First being a couple of map lights, cigarette chargers and the hood shock mod. It all came out well and was relatively easy stuff. I'm very excited as my mechanical and electrical skill is being tested and improved every step of the way. :)
Here are some pics of what I've done.

For the hood mod, I dropped on of the screws in the fender, but couldn't retrieve it with the long magnet dealy-bob. I have to get another screw today and finish the job. So far, it only has one 90 lbs. shock and that isn't doing the job.

At least on mine. It should have a whole that allows it to straight to the ground. They have this in front and back corner of inner wheel well. So maybe yours is all clogged.
