Getting busy making up some harnesses.

It's nice to have a label maker that I can print perma sleeve heat shrink labels with.

Time to watch some college ball, finish up a pork butt, and pop the cork on a bottle of Don Julio.

Open barrel for the win.
I was just going to twist the wires together and wrap some cheap electrical tape around them, but I figured that's something a PO would do!

That’s the preferred way but the open barrels will work for now.

Do you have a model number for those crimpers?

Here's the frame model number of the main tool.

Then there are interchangeable dies for whatever type of crimps you're working with.

I also have a die for smaller pin terminals.

Late night progress last night. I had to do some troubleshooting already also, one of the female connectors wasn't crimped correctly.

I snapped the rest of the switches in place and fished the tail of the harnesses down towards the passenger side of the heater. Now comes the fun part, wiring everything up in such a fashion that it doesn't make it into the redneckness thread.

And make it modular and easy to troubleshoot should the need arise.

There was mention by @Vae Victus in another thread about a zip tie trick to help hold the 6 gang switch bracket in place. After some thought I figured that out, I slid a zip tie across the small tabs on one side of the bracket, essentially pushing the tab out about 1/8", which tightens it in the hole perfectly. Sorry no pics of that.

Another detail I would have like to gone with is the gaskets for the switches. I'm pretty sure they would have tightened up the switches in the mounting bracket just a tad.

I'll be pissed if I can hear them rattle or squeak.

While I had the time to spare I removed most everything that was attached to the body. The engine bay is in pretty good shape, as I workedy way to the back I started to find some cancer here and there. The usual suspects were right there. The rear sill is something I had my eye on for a while, there are two fist sized holes where the original rear benches used to mount. Found a couple pretty decent sized areas under the cab as well.

Broke all the body mount bolts with exception of 2, no big deal, there are being replaced anyways. With a little help from a chain hoist and my engine hoist the body was off and sitting on jack stands in about an hour. Time for a beer.

After a good look at the frame I am delighted, no rust, it is in excellent condition. Worked on stripping down the frame last night, everything is removed except the steering box.

Is that a heater, center, under dash?

"Is that WARM PULL on your dash. or are you just happy to see me?"
Forever stuck.

Maybe one day I'll replace the heater valve under the hood!
