Speaking of the "train station",

That's where I usually stop to take a leak on the way to skiing!

I'll send you a Dutton ranch shirt, they sell the fancy Wrangler ones with the pearl snaps!

They've gone and ruined that too, I've worn the old school pearl snap Wrangler shirts for like 20 years, now people think I'm trying to dress like Rip.

Next thing you know my 40 will be on the next season of Yellowstone.
I'm shocked to hear that pearl snap shirts are fashionable.

I have a pair or two that are like 50 years old.

No idea what Rip is.

In the late 70s when cowboy became fashionable, my friends and I ditched boots and cowboy hats for keds and baseball caps just to avoid folks thinking we were trying to be fashionable

Hell, I've worn pearl snap shirts since the late 90's, when everyone was doing the flannel grunge thing!

There's not many shirts more comfy than a broken in Wrangler shirt.

Hell, they shouldn't be "fashionable", they're work shirts!

I'm going to have to start dressing like a fishing guide....

Wait a sec, that won't work.

Maybe a homeless dude.

Parked it in the garage tonight, I may rotate the tires tomorrow, check some fluid levels, and assess the situation with the paint that peeled off over the winter. I've noticed recently right about 50-55mph I have a horrible vibration coming from somewhere, along with some signs that some shackle bushings may be thrashed.

We'll see what I find.

The ebb and flow of ownership…🙄

Hopefully, its something mundane that only requires a wrench and ratchet to claim victory…

God Speed young warrior.

No big deal, just part of owning an older rig. Not to mention I drive it hard year round.

I managed to get the tires rotated today and inspect a few other things. After disassembling the front shackles and inspecting the bushings I didn't see anything out of the ordinary aside from a couple loose nuts on one shackle. I shot some grease all the way around and in the u joints. Drained the t case oil and replaced it with some dino oil that is a little thicker.

Had to take it on a test drive afterwards, the vibration at 50-55mph seems to be gone now, and the high pitched t case whine seems to be a lot quieter as well.

I noticed that it's been a while since the oil has been changed in the engine, although it looks brand new on the dipstick.

More testing is needed.

Pinion angle probably slightly off. Restock your beer cooler to normal levels and drive again. YMMV

Washed the Fluid Film off of it today, I remember reading it somewhere on Mud that FF doesn't wear off, you have to wash it off.

No truer words can be spoken.

You have to WANT to wash it off, it ain't coming off by accident.

From one of the 40 owners that drives my rig year round, I will vouch for the effectiveness of the FF, even the big patch of bare metal under the drivers seat is still clean.

I did find a couple spots that had some bubbles under the paint, the one on the fender I hit hard with the pressure washer, the other one has been growing for a couple of years now.

Maybe I should hit them with some Fluid Film and keep going.

Then there is the OEM license plate light, I can't say I'm really impressed with the quality of the finish. It's another spot that's been slowly growing over the last few years.

I have the same color of rust! Maybe we eventually change the paint code to 203 on the VIN tag - Fe203 is the chemical formula for rust

my hood hinges are looking like your door hinges - I'm doing a rattle can resto on some of the hinges and smaller areas of rust - like under the dash pad... etc.
