At least one person has posted about quality issues with an aftermarket aluminum cap leading to leaks. The Genuine Toyota part is not expensive, there’s no reason to cut corners here.

Also, even if the new part doesn’t leak, the spring that pushes the filter up against the flange it seals against is in the base of the cap. I would not want this very important part to be s***ty aftermarket quality.

Just go to Toyota and order it. See my post not too long ago about me ordering this/what to do HERE.

I did this last oil change and got the metal housing, metal cap that goes underneath (mine was glued to the plastic housing), and a filter all for like $60.

If you care about saving $20 - $30 for such an important part a 200 series is probably not for you.

This will fit…it did on my 2011 LC. You will need to change the interior filter part. Lots of guidance on that on Mud.

I also did this….there are cheaper options, but I didn’t want to deal with a cheap part.

I have the OEM toyota metal cap, it came off another toyota car. The small bolt cap is desperately stuck in it, super annoying, I can't use it to actually drain.

I recently posted about the very same problem. I ordered and went back to the OEM plastic cap. Full cap, with filter 15650-0S010

I somehow lost my OEM cap. Where did you get yours? last I looked it was like $70.
I order parts from the Olathe Toyota Parts Center, unless there is a big parts sale and then I go with any dealer participating. That's about the right price, for the whole unit.

Just go with the OEM metal setup (new replacement). If it makes you feel any better, that metal cap was glued to my PLASTIC housing which is what made me make the jump. I feel much better about having the metal housing there now.
