Comparison of mounts

Observation. Fits ok as a passenger seat, not so good for the drivers seat. The seat back is significantly thicker than the factory seat which limits a already limited sliding back of the seat.
The planted brackets are way taller than the factory height. Might drill new holes in the front brackets, but might affect the level fit of the bracket. Actually looking at it drilling new holes won’t work either because of the angle of the dangle 😐
I have experienced the same on the driver's side at first I was under the impression I had not installed the slider properly... I am not tall but still 5'8 it's close to the steering

The bandana makes you do a double take!

My driver's seat is from a 79 series, and sits higher than the original 75 series seat. It took me a minute to figure out why the original steering wheel was swapped out for a smaller diameter one - the original wheel would cut your legs off at mid thigh in that seat, especially in a non-tilt wheel truck.

Received a DIY kit from Planted Brackets so I could modify the mounts for the seats. I was able to drop the rear about 1/4” and the front about an 1”. Dropped them off to get powder coated. Once back will see how much lowering the mounts (as little as I was able to) will help with the Scheelman seats fitting me in the small cab. For now I would not recommend the Scheelman seats in the first gen Ute.

Thought it time to make an emergency road repair kit. Just stuff I think I can repair on the road.

SMART!

I carry something similar and I can I tell you how nice it is to make a trailside repair and NOT have to think about opening it again back home because I was missing the correct gasket or seal? A spare birf is often carried but rarely do folks have the spare inner seal (90311-33085/FA33085) or the clips, seals & gaskets you've assembled to fix it cleanly and permanently. Well done!
