Replaced all the turn signal and parking lamp assemblies with new oem ones. Reused my old lenses for the right look. Tightend up the front end sheet metal and replaced alot of missing bolts. Trying to eliminate rattles. New hinge gaskets and hardware too. Now the glove box stays dry.

Took the wagon on a 140 (about) mile trip yesterday. We went exploring old mining sites. It was raining on and off all day, but made for a great trip. We got to see alot of cool stuff. Even the highway drive home in the dark while raining wasn't too bad considering I have no windshield wipers and stock headlamps. Good times. Here's a few of our stops.

Very cool pictures! Looking at the rock walls and how much work went into them, nobody would do that kind of labor today. The 45 is in it's element.

Thank you!

Great pics! Nice LV!

With some of those nice improvements, I vote you should call this "The Stealth Wagon". Or since you favor German shocks, "Ze Stealth Vagen".!

New shocks are a huge improvement both on and off road. My rear shackle kept getting inverted though. Since the re arch, the springs are basically to short. I need to move the shackle hangar forward and make a anti inversion do dad.
Other than that, today was great day. Did more exploring and wheeling. Ended the day at the Crown King Saloon for burger and a beer.

Glad to see everybody digs my updates. I have been inspired by other build threads and hope that mine does the same. Working on these old trucks and using them is just too fun.
This weekend there's no wheeling for me, but some new floor boards for the wagon. It's not really the best or correct way to fix them, but it'll work for awhile. I got most of the rotted stuff cut out and replaced with some fresh sheet metal. Tomorrow I'll seam seal all the edges and get it all painted up.
Then, it's time to get that new to me freebie headliner installed. But that's for another day.
Here's most the rotted stuff cut out.

Great work, glad you are driving the LV while you are doing your repairs. I wish I was doing that with my 40, too much time with it just sitting.

Great job with the floorpans. Unfortunately I am still halfway through rebuilding my rockers, B pillars. before I can weld the pans on my 45V. My body mounts need to be remade at the B pillars. they are completely rotted.

I see you deleted the seat belt mount bolt in the rear. I'm curious what gauge steel did you use and are you getting much vibration/noise by not ribbing the pans to strengthen it?

I'm tossing up welding up a flat sheet like you or doing it the hard way and replicating the factory ribs/depressions.

Most of my body mounts are pretty solid, but some of the edges I left to over lap were not. I think I got enough weld in there to hold it all tight. I used 16 gauge sheet metal. Don't know if I have any vibes yet, as I have not driven it yet. It all seems pretty solid though.

Sure, it would have been nice to duplicate the factory floor, but I don't plan to restore this wagon to stock. These pans should hold up good enough for now and are much nicer than what was there.........holes. Plus, I knocked out this project in 1 weekend.

I deleted the seat belt mount because my seat belts are tied to my new seat mount. I have no plans for the factory benches.
