Love it! Glad to see another LV back in the elements.

Wow, time for an update. Been driving the wagon a lot lately. Put about 300 miles on it so far. Got a ton of little things finished. Here's a few pix of those things.

The devil's in the details. They make such a big difference and thankfully are usually more of the fun part(s) of any project. Glad to see you getting so far along on her

Question: Was it easy to be able to keep you 1964 classic AZ license plate? I didnt know that was possible...

Registering old plates is super easy. As long as the number is not being used, you can reregister the plate. There are several guys that sell plates that are known to be clear and usable. They usually charge a lot for these....$50 for singles and mint pairs for like $200. They are at the car swap meets like Good Guys or at Glendale Community College.

I bought my plate as a single from some random seller for $20 and lucked out on it being usable. I also use a 3rd party MVD place as there is no wait or confusion.

Made a handle and it now operates......mostly. The hatch now pops open when you pull the handle. I am going to make a bent piece of aluminum that fits over the lever and covers the top part.

The lower tailgate is held closed by some old man latches on either side. The tailgate is mangled and does not line in up with the strikers. I made a cover panel for it and threw some paint at it. Kinda hides how bad it is. :)

Made a side view mirror too

Took the wagon for the longest trip yet and for the first time on the highway. It did pretty good on the highway. On the big climb where my old 55 wagon would drop down to about 35-40 mph, the 45LV never dropped below about 58 mph. Pretty good for what it is.

Our trip was about 135 miles, with 75 or 80 of it being dirt road, very little low range use though. A few friends even complained that I was driving too fast...lol. Here's a few pix of some of the cabins and other stuff we explored.:)

That. Is. SWEET!

:)

There are several cabins in that area. The main one had notes to the people that must take care of it. Don't think any are on private property. Think they are just there from the long gone ranching days.

As for the size of the wagon, lots of people see it and say it looks big. But in comparison to other vehicles, it is kind of small.:D

Been having a great time driving and wheeling this wagon. Hope to take it out again this weekend. Will post pix of some new things in a day or 2.

Ive heard the cowboys that round up their free range cattle use the cabins for overnight stops.

New tires and OG hubcaps

Got the fan shroud installed and connected the heater. It puts out some good heat. Which is a plus since the windows don't roll up yet.:grinpimp:

Yes, the rears rub. I need to get some bump stops. Checking out my options.
The old tires were the same size but obviously not worn. Plus these are on a narrower wheel, making the tire slightly taller too. There was some rubbage before but not bad. It is bad now and needs a fix.:hhmm:

After installing my shroud, there was some fan rubbage. I made some new rubber spacers for under the radiator support and a new strut to the firewall. Problem fixed.
