Got alittle time in on the wagon tonite. Swapped in some new sway bar bushings. The old ones really seemed pretty good, but opening was worn out and the bar wiggled even when tight. The new ones fixed all that. Will be interesting to see if I can tell the difference.

Sway bar bushings really improved the feel of the rear suspension.

So, I took a little field trip to revisit another LV in the wild. Originally, a friend spotted this while working in the area. I went and checked it out about 4 years ago and talked with the brother of the owner. He gave me the owners phone number and I had left a message never to hear back.
So, today I cruised my wagon back down to the farm (160 mile round trip from my house) to visit the old wagon again in hopes of getting in touch with the owner. Talked with the farm hand, got the farmers number, talked with him, got the owners number, talked with him. Basically he wants some one to rescue it and I am that guy. Plan is to go back Sunday morning and haul it home.
I hope whatever critters vacant on the way home. It's a real pile, but it's beautiful to me.

Is there a frame and axles under the old girl? Very difficult to tell with all of the dirt its sitting in. I'm with you, it's a beautiful old truck and should be rescued!

There is a frame with springs and empty axle housings under there. Not sure on the floor or lower body rust situation though. Good thing is the guy has some heavy equipment that we plan to lift and load it on to the trailer with.
It's like an archaeologically dig and a truck rescue all in one. Plus the treasure hunt to see what is inside. The suspense is killing me.

Wow, we have rescued some stuck in the dirt up to the hubs but that takes the cake.

Wow. Wow. Way easy to load with an excavator. We used an m715 on our last rescue. Looking forward to updates. Very good use of a long weekend. Congrats

It's been a pretty fun day. Wagon is home and resting on the side drive. I unloaded about half of the stuff so far. There is a crazy amount of dirt and sand inside. Treasure hunt continues tomorrow am. Here's what I got so far.

so what colour was it originally? haha great find, would have been a ton of fun recovering that thing.

body panels look to be okay for the most part, not too much rust I hope?

Even came with a Christmas tree stand! Bonus.
