AC Dryer Relocation Completed

I've had mine relocated for almost 3 years now. It works like stock (cold, every time), haven't really ever given it another thought except when I see bumper design threads where people are trying to account for that silly mount location.

It looks like these lines use a flare union of sorts in the lines. I bought a set of R12 lines and was planning on trying something like this to integrate them into a R134 system. Can anyone who has used this kit confirm what was used in those joints?

Guys,

I just heard back from the manufacturer and the kit would be $205, plus shipping.

Due to its size/shape I can only ship it via express air (1 week-ish) or slowboat (2-3 mos)

I can't recall how much it was to ship, but I can say with shipping it would not exceed $250 (in a box)
For slowboating it would be about $10-$15 less.

Or, with express air I might even try to bubble-wrap ship it (fully insured) so we might even be able to save some weight/money in shipping.

What I usually do is to have people pay for the goods first and upon receiving the parts I present them with the shipping options/costs. (Yes, I should have kept better record of shipping the kit!)

PM me with your vehicle info (-'94 or '95-) if any of you want to proceed!

Rick,

Not sure if you're question was directed at this particular kit, but if others can't provide the info that you're looking for, I would be happy to take a look/pics, etc... upon obtaining the kit.

MOT, I was just throwing it out there. My plan was to do this type of relocation by gobbling together the lines from a r13 and r134a together. Basically putting the ends from a r134a on that of a R13.

I wasn't sure how to go about it but then saw this post and it looked like these lines use a union in it.

Thanks for the offer.

BTW, I've got one order and would like to give you guys a couple more days before placing my order just in case there are any others that would like to get on the band wagon at this time! :D

Not trying to put pressure on or anything! :hillbilly:

Hey Mot, how come everytime my friends "look out for me" it always costs me $$$ :) just kidding. I could really use one of these kits. ravencr is a good friend of mine. If you were to ship our two kits together would that save us any on shipping? Oh btw, yeah I'll take one, just pm me the details on payment and such. Thanks man.

Mot, not sure if you're still on here since this is a pretty old thread, but what are these kits running now days? I busted my drier line on some hard dirt and the stock bumper bumped into the drier bending the line.

kbahus: Does the relocation give any advantage other than getting it from behind the bumper? Are there any drawbacks, like does it get in the way when working on the left headlight, installing a larger battery, ---??

My 3FE came with the mod stock from the factory baby:flipoff2: One more reason. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

The biggest benefit is getting it out of harms way. It doesn't have any downside in my eyes and mounts in the oem location for 91-93 trucks.
